Prince Kaybee Pressured To Give Up His SAMAs Award – He Has Pledged It To Master KG
In a surprising twist of events, Gugulethu hitmaker Prince Kaybee has pledged one of his awards to the ‘more deserving, rightful owner’, Master KG and Nomcebo for their global hit song Jerusalema.
This after the SAMAs snubbed the duo on their 2020 awards where Prince Kaybee is nominated 9 times.
Master KG is currently sitting at number 44 as the only South African artist on the Global Artist Rankings.

His hit song Jerusalema with 50 million views on YouTube has been so viral and influential across the globe that there has been recordings and cover versions of the song in Spanish and French.
But the SAMAs organizers deliberately snubbed him on their upcoming awards ceremony. In fact, all Limpopo artists – the likes of Majozi who made headlines with her hit song John Cena and Makhadzi of the Amatorokisi fame – were all sidelined.
After so much public backlash Prince Kaybee had this to say on Twitter; ” If I win Song Of The Year this year at the SAMAS I am gonna go get that award edited to “Master KG Ft Nomcebo – Jerusalem.” That’s just my contribution to what they have achieved this year.”

He has pledged his award because he believes they deserved it and as support for the duo on their global fame.
