AKA dumped DJ Zinhle because of Pearl Thusi

DJ Zinhle has been mum on her break-up with rapper AKA since news of their split broke. However the “Umlilo” hitmaker has finally broken her silence. Speaking to Drum Magazine , she shared that the reason behind her silence on the split was due to being booked and busy. Family and work are important to Zinhle, who said: “I am fine, I’m genuinely fine. I just have been overworked.

She said as far as her relationship with her baby daddy was concerned, they were civil towards each other and “one big happy family”. Kiernan, my mom and I, everyone is just getting along. Our break-up hasn’t broken up the family.

“It doesn’t have to be a romantic relationship to make a family work and that is what we are trying to do now. The duo ended their romance at the end of last year. Rumours of their break up started when Zinhle went on holiday with her BFF Pearl Thusi to Mauritius and AKA jetted off to South Korea on a solo holiday. After weeks of speculation, AKA confirmed their break-up in an interview on Metro FM in January.

The “Fela In Versace “hitmaker told DJs Sphectacula and Naves: “It’s been a crazy start to the year, I had to go away. I went on holiday. I was just speaking off-air that I went on a very cold holiday. As people might have noticed it’s my first holiday being a single man for many, many years.

AKA dumped DJ Zinhle because of Pearl Thusi

Last month AKA also tweeted: “I’ve been single since 2019. What was I supposed to do? Inform you? This is not the first time that AKA and DJ Zinhle have parted ways. When they first broke up, AKA had cheated with Bonang Matheba. It is no secret that Bonang and DJ Zinhle have not been on good terms ever since it was rumoured that Bonang was dating AKA. DJ Zinhle called it quits with AKA after a 3-year long relationship in 2015, this after DJ Zinhle accused the rapper of having an affair with Bonang.

AKA and Bonang finally decided to go public about their relationship, which has since collapsed. Meanwhile, AKA’s mother Lynn Forbes has shown a great deal of loyalty towards DJ Zinhle, who is the mother of her granddaughter.

The pair have displayed a good relationship over the years, despite AKA and Zinhle’s messy breakups .The businesswoman spoke to DRUM Magazine on where she and Kairo’s mom stand. Glammy, as some know her by, has said that her relationship with the DJ will never change and the love is still there.

“My relationship with Zinhle is never going to change and neither will my relationship with Kiernan (AKA). I love them both dearly and I support both. They’re amazing kids. My relationship with Zinhle is never going to change,” she said.

The couple is notorious for having an on and off relationship, but that has never hindered Lynns’ relationship with Zinhle. In fact, if you may recall during their first breakup, Lynn’s relationship with her son was strained. This was caused by her loyalty to DJ Zinhle.

Forensic report into Enock Mpianzi drowning to be released Wednesday

Forensic report into Enock Mpianzi drowning to be released Wednesday

Johannesburg – The Gauteng Department of Education will on Wednesday release a forensic report into the drowning of Parktown Boys High School’s Enock Mpianzi.

Mpianzi, 13, drowned during a Grade 8 school camp at the Nyati Bush and River Break Lodge on the first day of school in January.

He had been participating on a water activity when their makeshift raft capsized. At the time of his death, the school was criticised its handling of the situation. The department had also said the trip was not authorized.

It placed school principal Malcolm Williams on precautionary suspension and a number of officials at the district office, who had been involved with the school’s application which had been submitted late last year, but never approved by the department.

Questions were fielded to the department about the precautionary suspensions and we had yet to receive a response. This will be updated once the response has been received.

Mpianzi’s body was found more than a day after he initially drowned. It was reported that a pupil had reported to teachers during the camp that Mpianzi was missing, but he was allegedly ignored.

Another allegation that was levelled at the seven teachers who were at the camp, was that they had been playing games when Mpianzi was drowning in the river.

It was also alleged that they had failed to keep a record of the number of boys at the trip, as a ledger used to confirm the number of pupils on the trip, had been allegedly forgotten on a school minibus.

The EFF, as well as the South African Human Rights Commission, were assisting the Mpianzi family with legal assistance after mounting claims of neglegence levelled at the school.

Gauteng Education spokesperson Steve Mabona said MEC Panyaza Lesufi would release the forensic report on Wednesday evening at Parktown Boys High School.

What the report will show:

At the time of instituting the forensic report, investigators were tasked by Lesufi to uncover the following:

• Whether there are merits to the allegations and all the circumstances surrounding them.

• The conduct of any educator(s), school Management team and the principal in the reported case.

• Whether the school followed a correct process in embarking on the Camp.

• Was the camp authorized, what procedure was followed by the school or SGB in deciding to take the learners to the camp.

• What was the obligation of the camp/lodge in relation to the safety of learners in the premises and what guarantees did the camp have in ensuring the safety of learners.

• Does the school insurance cover this type of activity.

• When did the educators and camp management realise that the learner was missing, and what procedure was followed by the school to report the missing learner.

• Whether the matter was reported to the department, whether the department is liable in any way or not, whether there was any omission on the part of the department and what can the department do to address the problem.

• Whether there is a general problem of this nature at the school. The role, if any, of the SGB in this case.

• Whether counselling was provided or not and whether it is necessary to provide it now.

“Our primary goal and ultimate resolution remains to unearth the truth. We are motivated by the desire of helping all those who are affected by this tragedy to come to terms with this sad reality and find closure, but more importantly to ensure that incidents like this are avoided,” Lesufi said at the time.

He could have injured his skull and spinal cord: Penny Lebyane disturbed by AKA’s fall

He could have injured his skull and spinal cord: Penny Lebyane disturbed by AKA's fall

Penny Lebyane has joined the chorus of concern for AKA after his failed stage dive at the weekend.

The Supa Mega was feeling himself during a performance recently and decided to stage dive, only for it to go horribly wrong, with no-one to catch him.

AKA hit the floor and stayed down for a few good minutes, later laughing off the mishap and trying again.

A clip of the moment went viral on social media this week and Penny responded by saying: “My heart is really broken about what happened to #AKA.”

She later slammed those who laughed about the incident and those who did not catch the star, calling them cruel.

“You are mean. That was terrible. He could really be hurt and people are cruel to do that,” she wrote.

She also laid some of the blame at AKA and his team’s door, saying it should have been planned better to avoid him seriously injuring himself.

“Obviously it could have been avoided by him and his team to plan for them to carry him through the crowds. He could have injured his skull and spinal cord.”

She dismissed suggestions that AKA could have injured those in the crowd, telling a follower to stop watching so much TV.

Meanwhile, AKA has shaken off the Twitter storm about his fall, calling it hilarious.

And what would an AKA thread be without a little flexing? The star responded to claims that it was a “bad day at the office” by saying “R300k in a day is not exactly a bad day at the office”.

Veteran actor Menzi Ngubane (Judas Ngwenya) fired from Isibaya

Veteran actor Menzi Ngubane (Judas Ngwenya) fired from Isibaya

Veteran actor Menzi Ngubane has been booted from yet another top show.

The star that was one of the popular 16 actors that were fired in 2014 from local soapie Generations has been let go from his current role on Isibaya.

While viewers were left reeling last night after Nomzamo Mbatha’s much-loved character Thandeka Zungu was killed off, Ngubane’s villainous former taxi boss Judas Ngwenya is next.

However, Mzansi Magic yesterday insisted that there was no drama behind his exit and cited story-line development as the reason for showing him the door.

“Menzi Ngubane is leaving Isibaya. He has been playing the character of Judas Ngwenya on the show for four years. He will be killed this week,” Philly Kubheka, HOD for PR & publicity Local Entertainment Channels said.

“Judas Ngwenya’s story has come to an end, his terrible deeds have led him to his own tragic death.”

Ngubane joined the popular telenovela in April 2016 with Thuli Thabethe, Abdul Khoza and Linda Mtoba as the new Ngwenya family.

Over the years his character has cheated death and prison, terrorising the family of his arch-Nemesis Mpiyakhe Zungu (Siyabonga Thwala).

It is revealed that the two will have one last showdown later this week that will result in Judas being killed at the hands of Mpiyakhe.

Isibaya is wrapping up its seventh season this week as part of the storyline shake-up, with season eight kicking off on Monday.

Musician Simphiwe Dana who said polygamist Musa Mseleku has a small penis responds to his threats

Musician Simphiwe Dana who said polygamist Musa Mseleku has a small penis responds to his threats

Musician and feminist Simphiwe Dana has issued a public apology over hurtful and insulting comments she leveled against popular polygamist and Mnakwethu host, Musa Mseleku, when she disagreed strongly with the show’s take on polygamy.

The apology came early on Tuesday after Musa demanded that Simphiwe personally apologise to him for the insults. Simphiwe made references about the possible size of Musa’s manhood, and also accused him of having an obsession with humiliating women.

“I have watched a few episodes of Mnakwethu in disbelief over the past few weeks. As a feminist, the emotional abuse and humiliation of women on the show really hurt and angered me greatly. As a result, I personalised that anger and took it out on Musa Mseleku.

“I unreservedly apologise for this. For any hurt I have caused him, I am truly sorry – and I believe there is another, less harmful way from all parties affected, that this conversation can be had,” read the statement.

Simphiwe had joined the increasing number of Mnakwethu viewers who have slammed the show and the unsettling pattern of male participants who seemingly distort traditions around polygamy to suit their personal desires.

“Is Mnakwethu the African tradition hill y’all are willing to die on? I say y’all because it could never be me. Women being humiliated like this could never have my stamp of approval. I can’t even believe it’s being flighted. Surely we have rights as women,” Simphiwe tweeted previously.

Musa previously told TshisaLIVE he had decided not to take the insults personally because he’s only the host of Mnakwethu, and the show isn’t about his life.

However, Musa later told Sowetan he felt Simphiwe had disrespected him and his family with her insults and he therefore expected an apology or else.

It appears Simphiwe has seen the error in the manner she approached the situation.
