DJ Ganyani because he’s also from Limpopo and always represents home well. I’d also say Sho Madjozi but that dream has already come true! I have one song with her, Ro Rali, and will be releasing another one titled Limpopo Champions League in November.

Music is my life and it always changes my mood. Dancing – I started out as a dancer at the age of 12. I’d run away from home and dance at the mall for money. I love drama, which is what I’m currently studying at The State Theatre in Pretoria. And, lastly, being around positive people.

Lerato Kganyago confirms her marriage: 'I am a married woman'

After weeks of speculation and the rumour mill going wild, TV and radio personality Lerato Kganyago, popularly known by the stage name LKG, has finally confirmed she’s indeed off the market.

During Tuesday’s episode of #AskAMan on her show, The Bridge, on Metro FM, the DJ revealed she had gotten hitched. Speaking to Dineo Ranaka, Naked DJ and Somizi, she excitedly announced her new marital status.

“I am a woman, I’m a married woman that is,” she said, much to the excitement of her co-hosts, who revealed how happy they were that she finally revealed it.

“Oh my gosh! She finally said it,” Dineo excitedly exclaimed as Somizi and Naked DJ applauded in the background.

They then urged the DJ to say it again and she hesitantly complied.

“I am a married woman . . . All I wanna say is that this was an exclusive to The Bridge. I am a married woman,” she repeated.

Although Lerato did not go into detail about her marriage, Sunday World reported that she got married to a Gauteng tycoon named Thami Ndlela in a traditional wedding recently held in Boksburg.

Speaking to the publication, a source close to the couple revealed the pair would have their white wedding at the end of the year. “There is a big wedding being planned towards the end of the year and as family we are very happy for them and we can’t wait for this big day to arrive,” the source said.

Another source revealed that Lerato’s handing-over ceremony would be taking place in Soweto this weekend. “We are officially handing her over to the Ndlelas this weekend in Soweto. Come and see for yourself. We are so excited,” they told the publication.

The couple have not posted any pictures from their wedding yet.

Congratulations to them!

SA’s first coronavirus patient ready to be discharged – KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala

SA's first coronavirus patient ready to be discharged - KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala

The first South African who contracted the coronavirus is doing well and ready to go home, KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala said in Pietermaritzburg on Wednesday.

“We can say without any doubt that patient zero, who contracted the virus first, is recovering and he is ready to be discharged. More than 80% of the people who were infected [globally] are now healthy and back in their communities. With us, we believe it will be the same,” he added.

Zikalala said this after the KZN provincial executive council held a special meeting to focus on implementing guidelines brought about after President Cyril Ramaphosa declared a state of national disaster.

He added the province was ready to deal with the virus that had now infected 116 people, including 19 in KZN.

On 5 March, South Africa confirmed its first case of the coronavirus, a 38-year-old man from Hilton who had gone on holiday in Italy with his wife and eight friends.

The man, his wife -the third South African to be diagnosed with coronavirus – and their two children had all been isolated in their home before he was transferred to Grey’s Hospital in Pietermaritzburg.

Command team and plans

Zikalala said a provincial command team would be established to focus on various districts in the province to manage the spread of the virus.

“We will make sure that nothing falls through the cracks with the implementation of our plan. We are working out a resource strategy to need to mobilise to support interventions.”

Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane-Zulu told journalists new protocols would be put in place for queues at government buildings.

“There must be at least a distance of 1 to 1.5 metres between people. We are working on protocols so that queuing systems are going to be managed differently. We have started at different facilities, including our clinics.”

Zikalala also commented on an MSC cruise ship that left port earlier this week, seemingly ignoring Ramaphosa’s declaration that no more than 100 people should gather in one place.

“They have been in touch with us and said they will follow processes. They said that, from Friday, they will not operate, and they will offer one of their ships for services in support of the government if we want to accommodate them or use it, they will offer that.”

He said the ship leaving port was a communication mishap.

“We are in touch with them, they understand, it was a question of communication.”

Zikalala added “protocol would be observed” and the ship’s passengers would be tested for the coronavirus.

Some tweeps dragged her and said she is already thinking about death, while the country is still deer in the headlights about the virus, which continues to wreak havoc in the country.

Masechaba apologized for the error she made, even though some Twitter users were left furious, some took it very lightly and laughed about it, saying she probably had amnesia or a bad start at her new workplace.

It can get too tiring sometimes when you start working in a different and busy place right and those figures can be problematic right?

To clarify, “the number of people infected with #CoronaVirusSA now stands at 116″. Thank you Twitter family. Let’s continue to take the necessary measures to curb the spread of this Virus. My apologies for giving you a fright.

My cry is for my family and fellow villagers, who are advised to wash hands regularly, but there is still no water supply.”

My cry is for my family and fellow villagers, who are advised to wash hands regularly, but there is still no water supply.”

Skeem Saam actor Clement Maosa has shared his fears that communities with no water may not be able to follow safety precautions to stop the spread of coronavirus.

President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday announced a state of national disaster and put in place several measures affecting schools, travel and large gatherings to stop the outbreak in the country.

He also encouraged citizens to constantly wash their hands, avoid touching their faces and not shake hands.

But Clement wants to know how his family and others in poor communities will do this when they have no water.

“My cry is for my family and fellow villagers, who are advised to wash hands regularly, but there is still no water supply,” he wrote on Twitter this week.

Clement’s comments come days after radio host Redi Tlhabi said, telling people to wash their hands when some are without water “is a joke”.

She blamed the problem on a lack of resources due to corruption and drought.

“‘Wash your hands’ is a joke when directed at communities that have been begging for water, communities that have had to go to court over water, communities where resources meant for infrastructure development & service delivery have lined the wrong pockets,” she wrote.

The star is also not taking any chances, wearing a mask to protect himself “until further notice”.

“It’s getting real,” he added.

85 South Africans test positive to coronavirus as 2-year-old baby contracts covid-19

85 South Africans test positive to coronavirus as 2-year-old baby contracts covid-19

Four children, the youngest aged two, are among 23 new Covid-19 cases in SA.

The health ministry confirmed on Tuesday night that the number of cases had risen to 85. It also revealed that six of the new cases, including three of the four children, had not travelled outside the country.

“It is notable that there are eight cases of local transmission,” said minister Dr Zweli Mkhize.

Zweli Mkhize announced just before midnight on Tuesday that South Africa had 85 confirmed cases of Covid-19, an increase of 23 from Monday’s announcement.

Six more infections were confirmed among people who had not left South Africa, with the majority residing in Gauteng. Two patients are just two and three years old respectively, while the oldest among the batch of new confirmations is 62, a woman who travelled to the UK and Ethiopia.

The breakdown per province was as follows:

GAUTENG: 14
-A 45-year-old male who had travelled to Belgium, UK , France and the US
-A 37-year-old male who had travelled to the UK
-A 54-year-old female who had travelled to the USA
-A 52-year-old male who had travelled to the UK
-A 25-year-old male who travelled to the UK
-A 52-year-old female who had travelled to Italy
-A 59-year-old male who travelled to the UK and Dubai
-A 57-year-old male who travelled to the USA
-A 60-year-old male who travelled to the USA
-A 37-year-old female who travelled to Italy and Dubai
-A 21-year-old female with no travel history
-A 34-year-old male with no international travel history
-A 26-year-old female with no international travel history
-A 32-year-old female with no international travel history

KWAZULU-NATAL: 4
-A 48-year-old male who travelled to Dubai
-A 59-year-old female with no international travel history
-A 5-year-old with no international travel history
-A 3-year-old male with no international travel history

WESTERN CAPE: 5
-A 3-year-old male who travelled to the UK
-A 58-year-old male who travelled to the UK and Austria
-A 2-year-old male with no international travel
-A 62-year-old female who travelled to the UK and Ethiopia
-A 71-year-old female who travelled to the UK

Mkhize said it was “notable” that there were six further cases of local transmission.

He said he’d been forced to make a decision on the correct approach regarding releasing results.

“I must inform the public that there was a debate with clinicians, epidemiologists, virologists on when we, as government, must release results to the public. These experts raised an issue of an ethical obligation to immediately alert patients as soon as the results become available. This therefore means that by the time a confirmation test is conducted in public laboratories, patients would have been notified of their initial results. This clarification is important because, as government, we had announced to the public that all positive results will be verified through our public laboratories and the NICD.”

He said that in an effort to ensure transparency, they had decided to release results as they were submitted by both public and private labs, even if this meant that it would mean having to reverse an announcement if the confirmation proved the initial result was a false positive.

“In instances where our confirmation tests give contrary results, we will inform the public, make reference to that specific result previously announced and give the outcome of the confirmation results. Whilst we respect that private laboratories have the capacity to test and on their own issue results, our intention and approach is to ensure that there is credibility in the information and results given to the public.

“Whilst we appreciate the importance of being transparent with South Africans, we will not do so irresponsibly and not take into account all clinical and any other broader implications of the information we give to you.”

WUHAN RESULTS

A group of 114 South Africans who were trapped in Wuhan, China, since last year, and then repatriated at the instruction of President Cyril Ramaphosa to a hotel in Limpopo, were also tested. All of them proved to be free of the virus, said the minister.

“It gives us great pleasure to announce to South Africans that all the citizens from Wuhan were tested and their results came back negative for Covid-19. We continue to keep them in quarantine for the prescribed period and will thereafter initiate the process of reunifying them with the community.”

The group was put into precautionary quarantine on Saturday at the Protea Ranch Hotel near Polokwane, and are still under lockdown by the SAPS and the military. They are being observed for at least two to three weeks before being given the all-clear.

Mkhize said last week that the first 14 days would be the most critical, as two weeks is known to be the period that the disease can lie dormant without someone showing any symptoms. They would add a week just to be safe.

The minister added that during their 21 days at the hotel the facilities would be secured and patrolled by both the army and the police, not because the people were infected or being treated as criminals, but merely to ensure that the quarantine is observed conscientiously.
