Kelly Khumalo set to address Mzansi on Senzo Meyiwa’s murder

Kelly Khumalo has often been a topic of discussion whenever Senzo Meyiwa‘s case is brought up. The platinum-selling singer always trends when Senzo’s case receives the spotlight, and it is never for anything positive.

Kelly was a guest on 702 on Afternoons with Relebogile Mabotja and she discussed the case and the hate she receives on a daily because it remains unsolved.

Kelly told the radio presenter that when the time is right, people will get to hear her side of the story.

“The noise is external and has absolutely nothing to do with me. When I’m needed and when the time is right, the world will hear my voice. They will not hear my voice when they feel they should,” she said as quoted by The South African.

She says there are a number of cases that go unsolved and Senzo’s is not the first, but because she is involved as the crime took place in her home, she believes some people are turning it into something that is not.

“Whatever feelings they have towards me. I feel like it’s a projection because this is not the only case that has been a failure when it comes to the justice system.”

“For some reason, because there’s Kelly Khumalo involved, we want to make it something peculiar, something that is different, something that has never happened before.”

Chicco Twala once spoke about the phone call he received from Kelly informing him that Senzo had been shot. “I was sleeping at the time I received the call. I went to assist Kelly, because she said “please come, Senzo has been shot,” that’s all,” he told Newzroom Afrika’s Xoli Mngambi a few weeks ago.

He does distance himself from the case and says people’s opinion that he is hiding something, hurts him.

“It really pains me that people think I am hiding something in the Meyiwa case. They are tarnishing my name on a matter that does not involve me. I was not part of the eight suspects including my son when Meyiwa was murdered.”

He then said the people who were in Kelly’s house in Vosloorus must speak up so the case can be solved once and for all.

“I think the people who know the truth are my son, Kelly Khumalo, and the rest of the guys who were there. Because those people are conscious. Someone cannot be shot in their presence and they are all silent about it. They know who killed Senzo, my son knows, Kelly knows and everybody knows.

Even if Longwe is involved, he wants the killer to be arrested, “I will never protect him [Longwe], I don’t care how much I love him but if he is part of the people who murdered Senzo even if there is a death sentence I will support it

“Why would your best friend not divulge who killed Senzo? My son was meeting that guy for the first time. Senzo’s friend must tell the truth that he was there when Senzo was killed. Even if the guy says its my son, the police must immediately arrest my son send him to life sentence,” he concluded.
