Mohale Motaung confirmed that he married his estranged husband, Somizi Mhlongo in the community of property which, by law means he is entitled to 50% of everything the media personality owns.
SOMIZI AND MOHALE CONFIRM DIVORCE
Earlier this month a local publication leaked audio clips between Mohale Motaung and the producer of Living The Dream With Somizi where the Rockville actor claimed that he was physically and psychologically abused by his estranged husband. He also mentioned that Somizi had sabotaged his work opportunities as he did not want him associating with certain people which includes the Fergusons.
In the aftermath of the audio clips, Somizi and Mohale each released statements addressing the matter and confirming their divorce.
“I wish to confirm that we are indeed in the process of a divorce,” said Mohale.
“As far as the divorce itself is concerned, my only aim is to have it finalized fairly and reasonably,” said Somizi.
SOMHALE MARRIED IN COMMUNITY OF PROPERTY
In the leaked clips, Mohale also explained that although he and Somizi did not sign any papers, they are married in a community of property automatically because of their traditional wedding. This means Mohale is entitled to 50% of everything Somizi owns.
“According to the customary law in South Africa, because we stayed together and had a traditional wedding we are automatically married in community of property,” said Mohale.
Somizi Mhlongo is one of the richest South African celebrities with a net worth of R73 million according to Buzz South Africa, five houses and about six cars. Although Mohale Moutang claims he only wants a car and his clothes, However, he did say if Somizi did not oblige to giving him a car he would go for the 50%.
