Ntsiki Mazwai gives reason why SA will never have a female President

Ntsiki Mazwai gives reason why SA will never have a female President

The ever so vocal Ntsiki Mazwai is angered at how SA men’s toxicity will prevent women from holding office.

She believes men are the reason South Africa will never have a female president. Her bold statement is one of many and she remains unapologetic about them.

The poet is very sure that progression in this country will not be possible if men continue being toxic barbarians. Not mincing her words, she says the men are responsible for the stagnant change, if any, that is taking place, because she believes they are out to sabotage women empowerment.

She made a comparison with the UK Caucasian males who have female presidents, where as we are stuck in the past because the men in this country are ‘toxic barbarians’.

“We will never have a female president because South African men will always sabotage it…White men in Europe have female presidents, our men are toxic barbarians clearly,” she voiced out her opinion.

Of course, not everyone will agree with Ntsiki and many men have slammed her by saying women are their worst enemy.

“Women will sabotage other women, in the ANC, were against NDZs Presidential race. Women treat other women badly in workplaces. Other day you were telling us how women sleep with married men just to hurt the wives. Women are their own worst enemies,” the tweep claimed.

Crèche owner fears closure of her business

Crèche owner fears closure of her business
Olgah Maseko whose creche is facing closure due to the lockdown.

A businesswoman in Mpumalanga is counting her losses and now her day care centre is facing closure due to the national lockdown.

Since the lockdown began, Olgah Maseko’s crèche, Ice Age Educare, has been closed as children are now with their parents who are confined to their homes.

Maseko has been running Ice Age Educare in Leandra for almost five years after she bought it in November 2015.

Since the implementation of the national lockdown, all 38 children who go to the centre have not been able to do so.

“For us to survive, we need the money that is paid by parents; it’s what keeps us going as a business. The lockdown has left us with no income,” Maseko said.

“I went to the landlord to explain my predicament but he said he cannot change our arrangement because he has commitments to honour.”

Maseko said her crèche was respected in the neighbourhood and has developed a good reputation with nearby Laerskool Leandra.

But to continue offering her service, Maseko has to keep paying rent of about R7,000 to the landlord as the crèche is run from a private property.

“The lockdown could not have happened at a worse time for me. I had just started applying to convert the business into a nonprofit organisation, then the lockdown came. if parents do not bring their children, they can’t pay school fees and that leaves us with nothing,” Maseko said.

She used all the savings her business had made to pay for the rent at the end of March but the money for April is yet to be settled. Ice Age Educare has five employees.

“I really pray for someone to help us. I was still in the process of re-launching the crèche under a new name and vision,” Maseko said.

But the department of small business development said Maseko can receive aid from the government.

“As a registered business, Olgah is eligible and can apply for debt relief from the department of small business. The debt relief finance scheme is aimed at assisting businesses which are affected directly or indirectly due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim is to minimise the distress caused by the virus and assist SMMEs in sustaining operations and retaining jobs. If her employees are registered with UIF, she can apply for the employee relief through UIF,” said department spokesperson Priscilla Monama.

Monama said if Maseko’s employees were not registered for UIF, the department has an agreement with the department of employment and labour to assist small businesses which were previously not compliant on condition they acknowledge their debt and commit to repay UIF when their business stabilises.

WATCH: Shona and Connie set the record straight on firing actors

Shona and Connie Ferguson have responded to questions over why they keep firing actors from their shows.

Since a revealing letter by veteran actress Vatiswa Ndara last year, public opinion of celebrity couple Shona and Connie Ferguson has not been in their favour.

In her letter to Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa, the “Igazi” star accused Ferguson Films of exploiting actors while they bag millions.

Since the letter, public opinion of the couple has changed.

Following the departure of big stars like Rami Chuene, SK Khoza and Motsoaledi Setumo from their hit telenovela “The Queen”, questions about the couple and how they treat their staff have constantly made headlines.

Now the couple has finally responded to questions of why “they were firing people”.

During a Instagram Live chat with Themba Ndaba, who plays Brutus on “The Queen”, they were asked the question, “Why do they keep firing people?”

This prompted Shona Ferguson to respond with: “Who’s fired?”

“This is a soap, it’s a telenovela…characters come and go, that’s how soaps operate. It is for a story and sometimes to introduce another story, but characters come and go. This is not something exclusive to ‘The Queen’…It happens everywhere and it happens every time,” Connie responded.

Shona then said that people get bored at seeing old faces and they hire new talent which evidently will lead to a character getting written off.

“This reality of what we do is you are going to see new people in and out, it is the nature of storytelling. When people watch a show, they get to a point one year later where they say we are tired of these people, what else can you give us. Now if I am going to give you something different and something new, somebody has to go”, Shona said.

#TheQueenMzansi’s plan to raise Shaka from the Dead

What we know is that the viewers can’t wait to see the return of their favourite, Shaka who was killed, and they are hoping for more heat from the show.

Soapie fans were thrilled to learn that The Queen’s Shaka (played by SK Khoza) would be making a return to the show after he was controversially killed off the show 7 months ago. Many were left baffled as to how Shaka would be incorporated back into the show. iHarare has learnt of the 4-1-1 on how the show’s producers skillfully planned to raise Shaka from the land of the dead.

Shaka’s character is set to return to ruffle some feathers. SK Khoza exclusively revealed that his character would return a different person. ”

#TheQueenMzansi’s plan to raise Shaka from the Dead

“After Shaka was allegedly killed by his brother, he had some time off to gather his thoughts for almost seven months. He will return as a different person who will no longer be the Shaka that everyone knew since the inception of the show, who is the glue of the family”.

The Queen has been getting major talking points both good and bad on social media after they allegedly fired fan favourite Kea, played by Dineo Moeketsi. The Fergusons denied firing her.

On his return, Shaka added: “After the incident where Kagiso tried to kill him, it will be difficult for him to know who he can trust and who he cannot trust. He won’t even trust his favourite uncle Brutus,” he said.

The 31-year-old actor SK Khoza refuted reports that he was fired from The Queen.

“We live in a country where people like to speak before they know all the information and facts and they rely on hearsay. About seven months ago, news about the character dying came out about at least a month before the character died”, he said.

Khoza added, ” It hurts how people were happy to say I am a hard person to work with and how I make production difficult. It is painful because all those things were not true”.
