Famous rapper and songwriter Malome Vector‘s body returned to his hometown of Maseru in Lesotho on Friday, 26 July.

He tragically lost his life in a car accident on the N8 in Bloemfontein, Free State, on Wednesday, 24 July.

According to reports, the 32-year-old South African-based musician, whose real name was Bokang Moleli, was travelling with two crew members, Lizwi Wokuqala and Musa Lecton Nkondo, when the accident occurred.

Mondli Mvambi, a spokesman for the Free State health department confirmed that the accident claimed three lives and left two people hurt.

The Lerato hitmaker was living in South Africa at the time of his death. He has now been brought back to Maseru as his family prepares for his funeral.

His body was greeted by fans and supporters at the Maseru Border Gate. The musician was not alone at the time of his death; he was with his industry friends Lizwi Wokuqala and Da Mos, who also lost their lives, while two others are fighting for their lives in hospital.

Malome Vector was a pioneering new-school Sesotho rap artist from Roma, Lesotho.

He grew up listening to traditional Sesotho music and later discovered Motswako rap.

Malome Vector began his music career in the early 2010s and was signed to Ambitiouz Records in 2020.

He was popularly known for his song Dumelang, featuring Blaq Diamond. He built his brand by working with stars such as DJ Miss Pru and Blaq Diamond on their hit single, Price to Pay.

He was also working on his latest project at the time of his death.
