Unlucky in Love – 4 wives, 8 engagements – Lebo M heads for divorce again one year after marriage
The case involving Lebohang “Lebo M” Morake, the renowned producer and composer, and his estranged wife, Pretty Samuels, has been postponed to December 5. Lebo M, known for his exceptional work on film soundtracks like The Lion King, appeared at the Randburg magistrate’s court accompanied by his legal team. Despite the legal proceedings, Lebo M appeared in good spirits as he left the court premises.
Lebo M’s manager advised him not to comment on the matter until the next court appearance, indicating the sensitivity of the situation. Pretty Samuels, However, was confident as she left the court, expressing her belief in the legal process.
“I think it’s too early to say [how I am feeling]. We just came out of court. I’m still consulting. I do know that justice will eventually prevail ,” she said.
Insiders familiar with the case revealed that Pretty Samuels is currently residing in one of Lebo M’s properties. She confirmed that she had received the divorce summons and was consulting with her legal team regarding the necessary proceedings.
This latest setback in Lebo M’s personal life highlights his troubled history with marriage, leaving him doubtful about entering into another union. In a previous interview, he expressed reservations about sharing a home with a woman again, stating that he would wait until his youngest child reaches adulthood before considering marriage.
“I don’t know if I will ever marry again. I won’t share a home with a woman any more, [even if] I fall in love with them. Until my youngest is at least 20-25 and I’m lucky to be alive,” .
Lebo M shed light on the cause of the breakdown of his marriage, revealing that it stemmed from Samuels having possession of his electronic signature. During his European tour from April to June 27, 2023, Samuels acted as his proxy and signed documents on his behalf. However, issues arose when Samuels allegedly refused to sign an affidavit confirming the deletion of the signature. The situation escalated when Lebo M requested her to sign another affidavit stating that there were no policies in place benefiting her or others upon his death. Samuels allegedly failed to provide the requested affidavit via email or WhatsApp, causing Lebo M significant distress and concern for his safety and that of his children.
“I am consulting my lawyers to investigate and verify whether I have any fraudulent life policies in my name and/or any life covers taken to insure my life without my knowledge and consent, as this would be tantamount to fraud,” Morake continued.
The postponement of the protection order case prolongs the uncertainty surrounding Lebo M and Pretty Samuels’s legal dispute. As both parties continue to engage with their legal representatives, they must navigate the complexities of their situation. The outcome of the case on December 5 will shape the course of their separation and the resolution of their disputes.
