Tough List: Which Soapie will win the Awards?

Head director of The River, Zolani Phakade, is excited about their 10 nominations at this year’s Royalty Soapie Awards.

The much-anticipated awards, founded by actress Winnie Ntshaba, will take place later this month.

Although new kid on the block Gomora is leading the pack with 11 nominations, The River is hot on their heels.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Zolani said they are glad that they got the nod.

“We are glad to be nominated for these awards. It was difficult working under lockdown conditions,” he said.

The awards will be broadcast live on SABC1 on 26 September.

They’ll be also available on Facebook and Instagram Live.
