Actress and TV host Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo has penned a sweet appreciation message to her husband. Without mentioning his name, she thanked him for being by her side when she had Covid-19.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “A constant reminder of the incredible human I married. Right there by my side every day, when I was in hospital, regardless of all the 1 000 002 things he had to do. I can’t begin to explain what it was like not being able to see my babies but seeing his face kept me going.

“With a constant smile, a joke here and there, videos of the kids and constantly reminding me everything will be okay. You are not only the love of my life but my peace too. I wish I could whisk you away on a special vacay so you can breathe easy. Lie on a hammock and just relax. You deserve that peace of mind.”

Her fans and friends including Basetsana Kumalo, Moonchild Sanelly, Nhlanhla Nciza, and Tshepi Vundla couldn’t be happier for her as they sent love emojis to her.

Her friend Nomsa Madida wrote: “I love how you guys love each other. This reminds me of last week when you asked him to Uber your head cap and he video called wearing it. Ughh you have your soul mate here.”

Thembisa responded: “My friend thank you so much. And he was like ‘babe I can’t find it, where did you put it? What a punk.’”

Her other friend, director MQ, said: “Thembs my love, this is incredible. You guys are so right for each other. I’m so happy that you are happy my friend, you deserve it.”

Thembisa had been sick since April and was later hospitalised for a month due to Covid-19.

In a statement published this month, she said she’d been in and out of hospital since April.

“It has been a frightening time. I’m thankful to the specialists who monitored me carefully, who were able to diagnose and treat me. I will play the best Covid-19 patient when I return to work. God knows I’ve done the research through my experience, which was daunting and educational,” she had said.
