Three actors who are joining the cast of Imbewu: The Seed
Award-winning drama series Imbewu: The Seed is set to provide viewers with more entertainment as they have more top talent joining its cast.
Imbewu follows the lives of the Bhengu family who have been keeping a secret from other family members, with treachery and turmoil never too far away.
In June, the series came fourth on e.tv’s top programmes list with a viewership of over 3.4 million.
Here are the three familiar faces set to bring to life new and old characters on the show:
Muzi Mthabela
Former Isibaya actor is back on our screens after being on Mzansi Magic’s Isibaya for seven years.
Speaking to Move! about his departure from the show, the actor shared that all is not lost, he is still going to be on TV. “I am only a channel away. I will still be in your lounges,” he said.
The actor was rumoured to be replacing Tony Kgoroge who plays Ngcolosi back in May, but he made his debut last night as Zakithi’s (played by Nokubonga Khuzwayo) new love interest. In the interview Muzi also shared that he was excited to bring this character to life
Former Generations: The Legacy and The Queen actress Brenda Mhlongo is returning to the small screen. She is set to portray KaMadonsela, a role that was previously played by Fundiswa Zwane.
In a statement sent to DRUM in June, e.tv confirmed Fundiswa’s departure but refused to reveal the reason behind it.
Brenda is set to make her on-screen debut on Monday 27 July at 9.30pm alongside an array of other well-known faces.

Phindile Gwala
Former Muvhango actress Phindile Gwala-Ngandu is also making her return to the small screen.
Known for her role as Nonny in the SABC 2 telenovela and more recently as Diniwe on Uzalo. According to Sunday World, the actress will play the role of Fikile, an IT specialist, who will be introduced to save Maluju Oil in the daily series.
