Nomcebo Gumede, will be making an appearance again in Uzalo for the new season. Mumsy was a rabble-rouser young woman who came to KwaMashu to find her father; the former pastor of the KwaMashu church. While the reasons for her mysterious return is unknown, I am well informed that her father won’t be coming back, her deceased step-mother played by Leleti Khumalo will also not rise from the dead as she’s currently in ‘Imbewu The Seed’.

The tsotsi-bae stole the heart of many South Africans when she broke Mastermind’s (played by Tk Dlamini) heart by sleeping with his friend; Bafana. She would make up a story at home every day just to skip church, in order to spend time with her secret lover and took no notice of all of Mastermind’s efforts to get a hold of her.

According to some media outlets, Mastermind is also coming back to the show, since he was formally fired. The actor was placed on ‘special leave’ because of bad behavior. Since there’s been an immense pressure from the audience to get him back on the TV screen, the producers are trying, by all means, to get him to come to the show.

TK Dlamini was Mzansi’s heartthrob who survived on heists and stealing cars thus his name being Mastermind. The show is apparently moving into a new direction for the new season by getting rid of characters that do not bring in the viewership they desire. According to insiders, the new strategy involves bringing in new heavyweight actors such as Jet Novuka who will be playing the role of Captain Yamkela Mpambani and bringing back more old faces that fans cherish.

It is unknown whether the current Captain Mondli played by Thembikosi Thwala will be fired from the station or demoted to make way for Captain Yamkela Mpabani.

Jet’s role is a shrewd, no-nonsense Captain that will turn heads at the KwaMashu police station.
