#The Wife: Actor (Ishmael Songo) Mpande Zulu dies

It is no secret that The Wife is arguably one of the most talked-about shows in the country lately. The Showmax’s original drama series premiered late last year and it has won the hearts of many viewers.

Each week three episodes are being released and this week’s episode saw Mpande Zulu played by Ishmael Songo being killed. Mpande was killed by the Majola family, his rivals in the deadly taxi business.

His exit was very emotional and it hit home. Many viewers were saddened by his sudden exit. Taking to his Instagram account he bid farewell to the show and paid tribute to the cast and crew of the show.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for believing in my craft. Being a story teller is not easy because you ” living a day in a life of somebody else”. The support has been crazy!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO STAINED GLASS PRODUCTION, for giving me this opportunity.

Last but not least, the man himself, God all mighty 🙏🏿 I’ve been in this industry ever since I was a kid, and I’m still growing strong. This is definitely not the end, but it is the end for the character I play Mpande. Bigger things are coming my way in the year 2022.let me fuck shit up!!! Watch this space,” he wrote.

Ishamel’s tenure on the show will forever be iconic. His implacable portrayal of Mpande left many in awe of her acting range and capabilities. Viewers reacted to his exit.

Ishmael became a household name with a legion of fan with the role of Sabello on Rhythm City. His acting skills is unmatched and he continues to steal the hearts pf many people.

Speaking to Daily Sun, he shared how grateful he was for the role of Ntsika. “This is because the role came at a time when I needed it the most. A production I had been a part of for seven years had just come to an end. Honestly, it was God’s timing and I couldn’t be happier. I was at the lowest point in my life as I was uncertain of what I’d do next. I was quite comfortable where I was but it was a wake-up call. It has allowed me to spread my wings and open my eyes wider,”
