The first day Somizi met Mohale – This is what really happened

Without a doubt, 21st-century power couples are a hot buzz amongst us millennials and our tech-savvy elders, one such couple which has continued to make waves with an ever-growing fan base are of course South Africa’s most lavish and outspoken duo Somizi and Mohale.

What appeared to be at first glance, a relationship that was brought about by fame, good looks, and a hefty bank balance – surprisingly has a heart-melting backstory and, contrary to popular trends this did not start with a DM. From humble beginnings to a fairy tale romance of planning a third wedding in Italy, their love story is worth unleashing.

Judging from the number of fans they pull from their social media accounts alone, it doesn’t take a lot of research to tell they are one of Mzansi’s ‘it’ couple. Although not much is known about how Mohale was able to shoot his shot and win over the heart of prime time television queen Somgaga, we continue to zoom in on these newlyweds as they grow old together.

As indicated by Somizi, he met his life partner at the launch of his book ‘Dominoes’ back then in 2017. He posted a screen capture of a post that Mohale posted after his launch, and it had coquettish remarks by Somizi underneath.

His caption said, ‘#tbt so on this day u @mohale_77 came to my book signing. U were number 13 on the line and by the time I signed yo book I knew I’d wanna be with u for a lifetime. Weird I know. But I knew. Then a week later I posted this and my response said it all. By this time we hadn’t and never met. Look at us now.’

Whilst we have bared witness to the demise of many celebrity couples due to the pressure of social media and fame and everything that comes along with it such as groupies and drug abuse – Somizi and Mohale have given their naysayers a run for their money as the love they share for one another continues to blossom.

We can’t help but wonder if there wasn’t a prenup that was signed or if this is really just as good as it looks and who knows, expanding their family might be a card that is steady on the deck. These two are definitely the embodiment of love knows no age and we could not be happier for them!
