‘Thanks bye’: Dr Malinga so grateful for love & support from Mzansi

Mzansi musician, Dr. Malinga has expressed gratitude to the various celebrities who extended a helping hand after revealing that SARS has wiped his house clean.

Following his emotional interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG, where he spoke about his financial problems and issues with South African Revenue Services (SARS), Dr. Malinga had a few celebrities reaching out to help him and he is grateful.

Dr. Malinga thanked all these celebrities for their selfless act of kindness and they are Black Coffee, Oskido, Busiswa, Kabza De Small, Julius Malema, Makhadzi, and of course his fans.

Fighting back his tears, Dr. Malinga spoke about how SARS seized and auctioned his furniture in his presence. He said his place is empty because of this and explained that the effects of COVID-19 put him in this position.

The award-winning muso, said he sought the help of people he used to work with and the arts and culture minister, Nathi Mthethwa but nobody bothered to help him.

“After two years, SARS came. I called Minister Nathi Mthethwa, we talked. Sometimes when I am hungry don’t advise that you have to plough, just dish out for me. I am not bath mouthing him, I am talking about what happened. I was calling people that I worked with, but they didn’t come to my rescue,” he said. “They took everything. When you enter my house, if you don’t have a heart, you will laugh. My house is empty,” he said.

Dr. Malinga revealed that in total he owes SARS R500 000.

“Auction is painful. I was there, I went there, and then I wanted to say ‘please is not like I don’t want to pay, I don’t have money. I am not trending. I don’t have songs. I am not being called at gigs and I can’t force people to book me,” he said.

“Every time I give people, they don’t come for me” He continued “Musa Khawula announced that everything had been taken from me, I was fine about that before because they took them in July and I thought I could recover whatever was due to SARS but I couldn’t because money is not coming in,” he added.

Another celebrity who recently received help from people is Zahara. She too owed the bank some money and was on the brink of being homeless as her house was about to get auctioned.

“A month back your Country Girl came out and spoke about how she’s on the verge of losing her house and asked for Donations in coming up with the R350 000 the bank wanted. Your Country Girl came out and spoke about her financial problems to show ownership of her life moving forward.

“Thank you to each and every individual who donated and helped out, your contributions were very helpful.. Nenze njalo nakwabanye. The auction that was scheduled tomorrow is canceled. Thank you for your donations and prayers,” she captioned the post.
