Taraji P Henson postpones wedding to July due to Covid-19 concerns

Actress Taraji P Henson and fiancé, former NFL player, Kelvin Hayden just postponed their wedding day because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple were set to wed on 4 April 2020, however, due to the social distancing encouraged by the World Health Organization (WHO), the wedding will now take place in July.

“It’s probably going to be more like July. We have to see what this will be like at the other end, “she said during an interview with Access Hollywood.

The couple is more concerned about their family’s travelling to attend their wedding. “Our grandparents, my grandmother is about to turn 96, his is 86, how do we get them to the wedding now? Now, we are concerned, just trying to figure out the safest and best way,” Taraji told PageSix.

The couple announced their engagement in May 2018, the Empire star spoke to Essence about earlier wedding preparations.

“I mentioned one date. It was 4/4/20, and we were really going to do it,” she says. “But my wedding planner was like, ‘Okay, in case it rains, we’ll have umbrellas,’ and I was like, ‘You know what, never mind about April—let’s move it later.’”
