Is Uzalo actor Thulani Shange gay?

Thulani Shange is a South African actor who was born and raised in Pretoria, Mthlanyeng 012, and plays one of the Khanyile brothers Thulane on Uzalo.

The talented actor Thulani has been in many local productions and played different contrasting roles, it’s unfortunate that drama fans end up defining actors with a certain onset role.

Thulani Shange quickly become a fan favourite on popular SABC1 drama series Uzalo, as Khanyile Brothers, Thulane his brother Godfather (role played by Sizwe Khumbuza) had come to revenge the death of their father Khathaza who was Lindiwe’s husband

The two brothers brought Nkunzi down and took away everything they owned with Lindiwe. It was a joy to watch the brothers setting their plans in motion. Sadly the Khanyile brothers had to leave the production as it was rumoured that there were some problems between him and the producers of the show.

Well even with the recent character that he played on Uzalo it seems like people haven’t forgotten the role he played as a gay man. He played a hot role of a gay man on the Ikhaya series where he was a secret lover to Lindani Mbatha on the show.

Thulani Shange posted a suspicious picture on social media, which lead to the suspicion that he is gay in real life. Even after confessing his crush on Rhythm City actress Mapula Mafole his orientation remains questioned.

Despite him being a private person, sources close to the actor revealed that they are also confused with his sexual orientation.

“As popular as he is, Thulani continues to live a well-planned and secretive life, we are a bit close to him but we can’t really tell what’s going on in his life. He is always around his male friends, if you see him with a female most likely it’s a relative or many of his fans.”

Onset Thulani is orchestrating a come back against Nkuzi.

Uzalo’s current popular duo, Khanyile brothers, Thulane and Godfather played by Thulani Shange and Sizwe Khumbuza have been shown the door.

Uzalo publicist, Nomfundo Zondi, confirmed that the pair will no longer be part of SABC1’s popular show.

However, they are not the only actors leaving as they will be joined by Nomcebo, played by Nombulelo Mhlongo.

Nomfundo says this is because the show is entering a new season and that is why some characters will be dropped as they have served their purpose.

“They will soon bid the series farewell. Stay tuned, these characters will exit the Uzalo world in an epic, high-drama filled adieu,” she said.

However, word on the street is that Thulani and Sizwe were fired after they complained about their low salaries.

Thulani told Daily Sun that he’s left the show and there’s no bad blood as his contract came to an abrupt end due to lockdown affecting production.

The new season will bring veteran actor Jet Novuka who will be playing the shrewd, no-nonsense Captain Yamkela Mpambani.

“True to form, every season brings on fresh faces to deliver exciting twists as well as reintroduces familiar faces to shake things up. Sir Jet Novuka will be entering the Uzalo world to shake things up, making the lives of all criminals a nightmare. The feisty temptress Mumsy played by Nomcebo Gumede is back on screens by popular demand,” Nomfundo says.
