Nota Baloyi hits back at AKA’s lawsuit

Nota Baloyi is not shaken by AKA’s legal papers which demanded him to retract his statements made regarding AKA and Nellie Tembe’s tumultuous relationship. The music exec, has hit back at AKA and told him he is not scared of lawyers.

Yesterday, ZAlebs reported that rapper Kiernan Forbes, famously known as AKA, served Nota Baloyi, who is married to Afro Soul singer and guitarist Berita, with a cease and desist letter. The self-proclaimed millionaire said he is not scared of no lawyers and if AKA really means business he should interdict him through the court of law.

Taking to Instagram Live, Nota said, “When I was watching the Thembekile talk show, I had a moral dilemma. You guys should all know how much I love and care for Kiernan, AKA. Everybody’s always like no Nota you’re always on Kiernan’s side he did this, he did this. I support him, I’ve supported him for a long time. Me supporting him does not mean that I don’t want what’s best for him. I want him to prosper in life. I don’t agree with some of the ways he’s been going about things. I don’t. I don’t agree with it, and it’s in the public right now.“

He even informed AKA that he is a public figure so people are bound to develop an opinion about him.

“You can’t silence me with lawyers letters and stuff like that. You cannot! You cannot silence me with lawyers letters. You cannot stop me from speculating, commenting. Like what is that? Just let it go because you are living a public life now. You signed up for this. So now that you’ve signed up for it you need to live with it. Don’t be sending lawyers letters, cease and desist, whatever retraction whatever No! Not with me bro! I’m not scared of lawyers letters!“

Through his lawyers Mabuza Attorneys, AKA said Nota’s tweets about him were defamatory as he accused him of abusing drugs which then lead to his abusive nature towards Nellie Tembe.

“The man needs fixing because he is in denial about a lot of things but I would have preferred him to own his bullying of his wife, his substance abuse and his rushing into a relationship soon after his previous break ups. I am praying for him to find God and rely only on him!” Nota’s tweet reads.

He has since deleted his Twitter account but Forbes’ lawyers still have records.

“The aforementioned allegations are false and defamatory in nature…mean, alternatively imply alternatively contain various innuendos,” part of the letter reads.

“The aim and purpose of these statements and allegations is to slander, humiliate defame and tarnish the good name and reputation of our client. You were opportunistic and displayed true parasitic behaviour by stirring controversy and using our clients personal tragedy against him for your own personal and selfish gains,” the letter continues.

Nota is supposed to retract his statements and issue out a public apology to AKA. He is also instructed to not speak about AKA in future. In addition to that the civil claim against Nota demands that he pays AKA R500K for damages.

Controversial Nota Baloyi Makes Mockery Of DJ Shimza

Nota Baloyi went hard on DJ Shimza this Monday morning without sparing him. The DJ trended on Twitter, after flier of a Ministerial cook-out event went viral on social media. On the flier, Shimza’s restaurant, Hang Awt is the venue, while Somizi Mhlongo is the host of the event.

Lots of persons claim the two celebs are feasting on the national cake meant to be shared for all and sundry in South Africa. Nota shoots fire at the DJ for benefitting from the ‘corrupt’ government, instead of creating means to better Tembisa town in general.

In a bid to cancel Shimza, The Authority who is known to be outspoken says the DJ doesn’t even have a single hit song.

“Shimza doesn’t even have one hit song. Since when is the shit hole Tembisa a tourist attraction? When I visit my family there I have to risk bursting my tires in potholes. The crime in Tembisa is a tourist deterrent. Shimza should’ve thought of this before calling me a “MOESKONT!””

“Fix your corruption, jou moerskont… Tembisa is a shit hole and you can’t even call out the local government for the lack of service delivery because you benefit while our family members in Tembisa live in squalor. Shame on you. Your people are suffering and you celebrate that!”

“Shimza must just do himself a favour and stay away from local election campaigns. We want a new local government administration that’s going to ensure that the people of Tembisa have their dignity restored!”

Nota Baloyi and Black Coffee war reach boiling point

Music executive Nhlamulo ‘Nota’ Baloyi accused DJ Black Coffee of having abused his ex-wife Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa and of being a rape apologist.

Black Coffee, through his lawyers, has demanded that Nota take down all the posts and apologise.

BUT AS OF NOW, THE TITANIC BATTLE IS A LONG WAY FROM BEING SETTLED!

The war of words started after Nota posted on Instagram about Black Coffee in the middle of March.

Black Coffee, whose real name is Nkosinathi Maphumulo, retaliated through his lawyers on 31 March, who wrote to the Sony Music boss demanding he take down all the posts and apologise.

On the same day Nota was arrested for reckless and negligent driving after cops followed him to his residential complex.

In his apology, which Black Coffee has rejected as sarcastic, Nota accused his opponent of having something to do with his arrest. On the same day, Nota opened a counter charge, claiming the police harassed him for no reason, handcuffed him so tight that the cuffs injured him, and banged him against the holding cell walls.

Black Coffee’s lawyers are demanding that Nota write another public apology “without sarcasm” before the end of today, 8 April.

Reads part of the initial letter of demand from Black Coffee: “On 15 March 2021, you posted a screenshot of a photo on Instagram, which was uploaded by @gregmaloka and wherein our client appears together with other men.

“A portion of your caption of the post reads: ‘What’s more problematic than one alleged abuser? Two or more?’”

Parts of his apology, posted on 1 April by Nota, reads: “It was never my intention to defame your character, and even if it was you beat me to it so I guess it’s settled.

“I thought I’d comply with your request a day early so you won’t be able to tell if my apology is indeed sincere or whether it’s an April Fools joke.”

Speaking to Daily Sun, Nota said: “I was arrested and three hours later I arrived home to a letter from Black Coffee’s lawyers.”

Nota said it was the letter that made him suspect Black Coffee could be behind his arrest and could possibly be working with the arresting officers.

“I’ve apologised to him unconditionally because I fear he might send people to mete out violence against me, or his fans might harm me,” he said.

He said he’s opened a case against the “dirty” cops.

He said the reckless and negligent driving case was withdrawn by the Randburg Magistrates Court.

Black Coffee’s publicist, Samantha Emmenes, said: “We respectfully decline to comment.”

Captain Kay Makhubele confirmed the two cases and said that if Nota feels aggrieved, he should approach Ipid so they can investigate the cops’ conduct.
