BET Africa presenter Nomalanga also added words of encouragement, writing: “Take your time, baby. Take all the time you need.”

Media Personality Lerato Kganyago Dishes Advice To Women After An Increase In Human Trafficking

Tweeps have been raising their concerns over the rate at which human trafficking has instilled fear in many. Lerato Kganyago who is currently on a baecation with a secret lover has taken some times this morning to post a series of tweets which touch on this situation that has affected the livelihoods of both women and children.

Hashtags dedicated to spreading awareness at human trafficking and their hotspots in various cities in the country trended for almost all weekend on Twitter.

Lerato Kganyago has taken to her Twitter account to share some advice and tips to women on how to stay safe. She also expressed her deep concerns as South Africa is on, according to her, the “Tier 2 Watch list” for human trafficking. She has also slammed the government for not doing anything to protect children who are trafficked daily.

“South Africa is considered to be on the “Tier 2 Watchlist” for human trafficking. At least A MILLION kids are trafficked each year. Our government is not doing enough…Believe it or not South Africa has officially become a source country for Human Trafficking and it’s getting worse!” she said expressing concern.

Lerato who has always lent her voice to social issues, finds it baffling how many women have gone missing since lockdown and they have sadly not been found as yet.

“Every hour a child or woman goes missing! Some are lucky to escape, most never make it! HUMAN TRAFFICKING IS REAL! Thousands of women went missing during the lockdown, MOST have not been found yet,” she wrote

In this day and age, human traffickers have looked for many other ways to kidnap women and children. The one way which has become popular is the use of Uber and Taxify. We have seen tweeps sharing their experience when it comes to Uber and Taxify drivers and often times share the details of the ones to look out for.

The DJ has also made mention of how people should protect themselves when requesting such transport and also what to do when in clubs to avoid getting your drink spiked, as she says bartenders get paid to do such.

“Take care of yourselves, let someone know of your whereabouts. When you request for an Uber/Taxify take a screenshot of the drivers’ details, the plates included. If seated at the back ensure the doors don’t have a child lock. Otherwise, sit in the front where you are more visible.

“Ladies on a night out!!! ALWAYS leave in a group. Have fun but drink RESPONSIBLY. DO NOT TAKE DRINKS from strangers! FYI, SOME bar tenders are paid to spike your drinks. If you can, rather buy a sealed drink and open it up yourselves…Buy a bottle of water and THOROUGHLY RINSE the glasses yourselves…. especially in a night club!” she advised.

Lerato Kganyago fumes after Fan tells her to return from baecation pregnant

Lerato Kganyago has been one of the most vocal female celebrities who spoke openly about her troubles with fertility and helping other women a long the way. The star suffered two miscarriages when she was five months in and also suffered the loss of her friend and lover.

The internet is never a good space for the sensitive and weak at heart, however, for Lerato Kganyago, she deals with the trolls head-on. Recently the radio personality shared pictures of her baecation with rumoured fiance, Thami Ndlala, however, she never confirmed nor denied the speculation.

Showing off her getaway with her significant other, LKG saw a lot of negative comments from trolls and slammed one who meddled in her business.

The troll instructed her to come back from her baecation pregnant. A comment which was deemed nasty by many of her followers, considering the fact that the it is public knowledge that Lerato suffers with fertility issues.

Clapping back at the troll, Lerato asked the tweep why her womb is any of his concern.

The feisty, yet now-deleted clapback was applauded by many however she got rid of it after her followers dragged her for paying attention to the negative people and ignoring the ones who wish her well.

Opening up about the ordeal, which happened five months into her pregnancy, she said: “I was admitted, and after the doctor did a scan she told me I had miscarried. I sat on the hospital bed numb. I called my mom and my ex, who both cried. I’m still healing. I’m not ready to have another child,” she said adding that she felt guilty and blamed herself for everything.

Lerato said she felt like less of a woman after the loss of her two children. “I have only spoken about the (most recent) one because it was the one that affected me the most. That was when I really wanted to have a child,” Lerato said in a 2017 interview on Real Talk. She underwent therapy to help her cope with the loss.

Despite her heartache, Lerato has not given up on one day becoming a mom. She says she has not ruled out adoption. Lerato used her social media platforms to educate people about adoption. She told her Twitter followers in 2017 that adoption is “not a white thing”.
