The Queen actress Thembsie Matu almost died

The Queen actress Thembsie Matu has revealed she is Covid-19 free after going through a trying time fighting the disease for the past five weeks.
“It’s been a while since I spoke to y’all or communicated in any way but I would like to express my gratitude because I am still alive. God is merciful.”
“I would like to thank the staff at the hospital because they worked hard to keep me alive. Covid-19 almost had my life, I lay in that hospital bed for five full weeks, fighting for my life while they worked to keep me alive.”
The star said battling the coronavirus was hard and spiritually she often felt like she would be engulfed by darkness but gospel songs kept her going. She mentioned Joyous Celebration in particular, saying Ndenzel’ Uncedo Hymn 377 helped her hold on to the hope that God won’t leave her while she fought for her life.
“I’m very grateful that I made it out of that dark space, that I am still alive and Covid-19 free. But I’m not fully recovered at the moment.”
Thembsie said she was back home but hadn’t fully recovered.

The Queen actress Thembsie Matu’s Son Makes Her Proud

The Queen actress Thembsie Matu has much to celebrate this Christmas. Her son, Unathi Matu who recently joined the Queen is now a Master of Engineering graduate.

In a celebratory post on Instagram, the ‘Petronella’ actress cheers “Congratulations on your amazing achievement mfana wam @unathimatu. Siyabonga that you did not give up and continued to fight despite the hardships you faced.

Thembsie Matu is a well-known actress who has been on ETV’s show Rhythm City as the character ‘Sis Bee’. She had a recurring role in the SABC3 drama TV series The Lab. She is now most famous for her role as Petronella on ‘The Queen’. Her character’s bubbly charm has won the hearts of many.

Lesser known is her son – who also plays a character in the telenovela. The young graduate has been seen in The Queen as Schumacher’s lover; Sipho. The actor has been praised for his dramatic and hilarious portrayal of the character. This is yet another addition to his list of achievements.
