Somizi mourns sister’s death

MEDIA personality Somizi Mhlongo is in mourning.

The radio presenter and author recently shared that he laid his older sister to rest last Friday.

He took to social media to share the sad news.

“Last Friday, we bid farewell to my mum’s first born – my sister. She was a very private person, and her wishes were that her send-off should be just that. And, we made sure to grant her that. It was a peaceful and dignified send-off.”

He also took the opportunity to thank everyone who came and supported him.

“Now, let me take this time to thank everyone who came through. The messages, friends and relatives.”

He also thanked Nono Events and Vuyo’s Funeral Services for honouring his sister with a dignified send-off.

“A special thank you to the black excellence service providers. We need to destigmatise the notion that black businesses give bad service,” he said.

This tragic loss comes just a year after Somizi’s mum, legendary actress Mary Twala, died after a short illness.
