Somizi : I’m worried about selling alcohol.

g the news that alcohol are going to be sold for home consumption during level 3 of the country’s lockdown, media personality Somizi Mhlongo-Motaung has expressed his concerns.

“I thought that once they finally lift the ban i used to be getting to be excited and today I awakened feeling really worried. Like i’m really worried and that i am sure I’m not the sole one that is feeling this manner . It’s really scary”, he said within the video on Instagram.
He went on to mention that the govt needed to specify how people would get access to alcohol.

“If we are getting to buy alcohol like we take out and stuff (in stores), that’s worrying on behalf of me . one among the explanations why i’m worried is because i’m worried about people that will now prioritise alcohol versus everything else, their food, bread on the table and their health. i’m worried about crowds getting to buy alcohol with the fear that the ban could be brought back again”, he added.

The “Idols SA” judge and radio personality said that he felt the people that would suffer the foremost were those at the lower end of the economy which the upper crust would be fine.
