Somizi confirms his unemployment status
Somizi Mhlongo spent his day with media personality and friend Lerato Kganyago and they had a jol. On their day out, Somizi revealed that he is unemployed and actually joked about it.
The two good friends started their day out on a coffee date and then went shopping. Lerato spoiled her friend with some Starbucks but it was done against his will. He gave a description of his abductor, “Taken to lunch against my will….someone call 911-1011. Clues about the abductor….she has a deep voice, speaks horrible isiZulu, has two puppy brats, eats lots of boiled cabbage and can’t swim but has pools in all her homes…..that’s all I know for now,” he wrote in the caption.
In her Instagram stories, Lerato Kganyago shared a video of a bubbly Somizi who joked about his unemployment status. She complemented Somizi saying he looked good but Somizi said, “that’s what unemployment looks like.”

Somizi has been away from the airwaves on Metro FM and was also given the boot from Idols SA. His replacements will be announced weekly before the main event and Lady Du was the first guest judge.
Somizi stands accused of abusing his estranged soon-to-be ex-husband Mohale Motaung but he denied those claims. According to Mzansi Magic’s statement, guest judges will be brought in weekly, “Idols SA fans should brace themselves for an exciting line-up of celebrities, who are set to add some pizzazz when they join Unathi Nkayi and Randall Abrahams as guest judges every week. Their new voices are certainly going to add a new flavour to the feedback given to the Idols SA season 17 hopefuls,” they wrote.
Kelly Khumalo was a definite choice as Mzansi had spoken saying they want her to take Somizi’s seat forever but apparently she will be one of the weekly guest judges.
Following the drama which ensued, Somizi’s life has been under scrutiny and he decided to switch his comments off on Instagram. When things died down, he re-opened his comments section for his followers and he thanked them for their never ending support.
He recently got spoiled with a bouquet of flowers with R12000 in them. It seemed pretty obvious to his fans that he has a mystery bae who keeps him busy but he told his fans that he is not ready for such. “Fam please rest I never said boyfriend I said boi…yhu andizi there anytime soon,” he said.
In his bouquet of 120 roses, there was 120 R100 notes. Showing off his gift, Somizi said: “Tjo u can tell how excited I am…It’s so nice to have yo day made unexpectedly,”
This reminded fans of the time he gifted his husband Mohale Motaung 100 roses to celebrate their 100 hours of marriage. Sharing his bouquet on Instagram Mohale wrote: “Bae came by my office to give me a hundred roses for a hundred hours of being his Husband. @somizi You’re amazing!”
