Slikour and wife respond to cheating and abuse allegations
South African hip-hop artist and entrepreneur Siyabonga Metane, better known as Slikour, and his wife Melissa Wilkinson have requested for privacy amid allegations of cheating and abuse. The couple released a joint statement on Sunday following reports by Sunday World that Wilkinson had kicked the musician out of their home.
According to a source who spoke to the publication, the former Skwatta Kamp group member is cheating on his wife of five years. The source further alleged that Wilkinson is accusing him of abusing her emotionally and financially. In a joint statement, Slikour and Wilkinson admitted that they had their own “trials and tribulations” to work on. They further asked that they be given the space to overcome their challenges privately.
“We have been married for over five years, and as with every marriage, we have our own trials and tribulations to face and overcome. While we acknowledge these challenges, we also would like the opportunity to work through them privately,” read the statement.
“As parents, we are both very committed to building a happy and healthy home not only for ourselves but most importantly for our children. We request that our marriage and family be treated with respect and sensitivity, allowing us our right to privacy.”
Slikour and Wilkinson tied the knot in a traditional wedding ceremony in 2017. Together they have a daughter who was born in 2020, while Slikour also has an older son from a previous relationship
