Shauwn Mkhize clears the air on Corruption Rumours

Businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize woke up to her house trending after an article was written which put her under scrutiny. An article which was written by TimesLive had the headline: “Elite cops arrested for corruption, extortion and kidnapping in Durban” raised a few eyebrows as the image was of the reality star’s mansion.

Confused and shocked at the ‘fake news’ she slammed the publication for the inaccuracy in the reporting. Even though she came out and said that it was false, Shawn Mkhize’s wealth has been questioned by many ever since the very first episode of her hit reality series Kwa MamMkhize which aired on Mzansi Magic.

Taking to Instagram she slammed the publication for involving her in the corruption business and the arrests of corrupt cops who were imprisoned for extortion and kidnapping.

“Good morning all I wake up to this …my house going around on social media with headlines ‘ELITE COPS ARRESTED FOR CORRUPTION, EXTORTION AND KIDNAPPING IN DURBAN’ @timesliveza can you please explain to me why is my house on this story, as I am not a cop who was arrested and I am not a person who the money was extorted from ….THIS IS VERY WRONG,” she exclaimed.

Her comments section was filled with followers sharing the same anger as Shauwn Mkhize who advised her to sue or press charges in order to clear her name. The publication has since removed the story from their social media and changed the image of their story.

If you may recall Shauwn Mkhize made headlines in 2012 when she tried to bribe a witness in a fraud case. In her rap sheet, she was facing 173 charges of fraud and forgery. However, the charges were later on dropped.

She’s also been in a legal battle with the South African Revenue Service (SARS). When she was still with Sbu Mpisane, SARS ran investigation as to what Shauwn Mkhize and Sbu owed the taxman. In 2016, SARS officials said that the Mpisanes owed the taxman a total of R141 million.

Fortunate enough for Shauwn Mkhize she had a strong legal team that helped battle with SARS and the nightmare is over. Although she says her rights were violated she believes that her side of the story was finally heard.
