SA Celebs Join In On The Campaign That Calls On The Government To Save The Entertainment Industry #LightSAred

There are so many industries that have been affected by the lockdown, and the entertainment industry is one of them. We might be seeing people in the limelight bag gig after gig, but those behind the scenes are going through the most.

Behind the scenes are many workers including, sound and lighting technicians, event promoters, event organizers, club owners,
the club promoters, and security at events. They are sadly left without work because there are no gigs happening in the country.

Henceforth, the #LightSAred campaign which aims to bring government’s attention to members of the affected industry’s plight has been launched. They are calling on the government to extend financial relief to those who earn a living in the technical production and live events industry until they are permitted to resume work.

Celebrities like DJ Shimza, Lerato Kganyago, Thando Thabethe and many more have joined the campaign. They have shown empathy to those who are not in the public eye, but deserve to be listened to.
