#RIPKortez: Kortez has died

Mzansi mourns businessman and founder of Ink City, Kortez who has reportedly passed away. This came after, @nanettesings shared the heartbreaking news through a tweet.

“Kortez…Such a genuine, fun, sweet guy. Such a great dad. The biggest romantic. I’ll never forget the first time we met and the conversation we had and you getting me flowers chile. You believed in me so much. Sending you love in the heavens. I’m in disbelief.”

Shocked by his passing, Boity retweeted under the hashtag #RIPKortez which quickly gained momentum. Other Mzansi celebrities including Pretoria-based rapper Blak Lez and Mihlali Ndamase are also shocked by his passing. Kortez was known for finding one of the biggest tattoo brands in Africa, Ink City. Earlier in the year, Mihlali visited them to get a leg sleeve.

“@incityink recently hosted the amazing @mihlalii_n to start off an incredible leg sleeve that @inkmaster_qm is working on. Take a look at some of the scenes🔥Full movie will be dropping soon!”

What’s even more heartbreaking about his passing is the fact that his son recently turned one year old. In a heartfelt message dedicated to his little man, he revealed that he wanted to create generational wealth so that his son, King, didn’t have to worry about anything.

“My beautiful son @king_koreya just turned 1 and I still can’t believe how blessed I am to be his daddy!🥺 The past year has changed my life forever and I’ll eternally be grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow every day as I try to be the best father I can be! At some point, you just realize that there’s truly more to life than money and individual success, let’s try to create generational wealth so that our kids never have to worry about shit.”

Kortez was quite popular in the entertainment space. Our deepest and most sincere condolences to his friends and family. May his soul rest in peace.
