RIP: Orlando Pirates legend Stanley Tshabalala (Bra Stan) has died
Former Orlando Pirates star Stanley “Screamer” Tshabalala died at the age of 75 at a Hospital.
This comes after he succumbed to injuries he suffered when he was shot in March this year.
The shooting incident happened at his home on the outskirts of Centurion, Tshwane.
The Joburg-based footballer died on Thursday, 11 July.
Orlando Pirates FC confirmed the sad news by releasing a statement on their Twitter page.
“The Tshabalala and Orlando Pirates Family is announcing the sad and untimely passing of Stanley Tshabalala this afternoon in Hospital. Bra Stan, as everybody affectionately referred to him, succumbed to the injuries he suffered when he was shot in March this year.
“The Tshabalala and Orlando Pirates Family will furnish the details in due course. The public is advised to await the provision of the details for the arrangements going forward,” the statement read.
The footballer was the first coach to lead Bafana Bafana in an official match.
Bra Stan also served as the head coach of Mamelodi Sundowns. He went on to occupy various prominent positions within Orlando Pirates since 2008.
