Rich life battle: Shauwn Mkhize (MaMkhize) VS Basetsana Kumalo, who wins?

It seems that the tail end of the year is already setting up some of the fights to look forward to in the coming year- and no, this is not about the fight between Cassper Nyovest and AKA. But there is bubbling under fight between two of our favorite rich aunts and formidable businesswomen, Basetsana Kumalo and Shauwn Mkhize.

Mammkhize recently announced her permanent move to Johannesburg. The “Kwa-Mam’Mkhize” reality show star was one of the leading figures in the KwaZulu-Natal entertainment industry. And now she has set her sights to “cementing” her name and profile in the apex of the local entertainment space, Johannesburg.

Her move seems to have ignited a flame under Johannesburg’s favorite and previously undisputed rich aunt of Johannesburg, Basetsana Kumalo. Since turning her pageant queen days into a multi-million entertainment brand, Basetsana was hailed as the fairy godmother of some of our current faves like Bonang Matheba, Pearl Thusi, and DJ Zinhle, just to name a few.

But it seems that Basetsana has realized that with Mam’Mkhize’s move she needs to pull up her designer socks or face the risk of needing to say, “It’s wrap!” Confused? Here are some examples of how the two have already started to show who will run Johannesburg.

  1. The Battle of festive homes:

Recently, following her move, Mam’Mkhize revealed how much effort she had taken to decorate her newly acquired Johannesburg. Shawn suggested that she did all the work herself to make sure that her home look Christmas ready. While we might not believe that she did the work herself, the final product is perfection.

Similarly, Basetsana did not go into trying to make us believe that she decorated her own home herself. What she did show is that she is the hostess when it comes to throwing a soiree. The Boss Lady behind television shows like “Cheeky Palate” and “Our Perfect Wedding,” revealed that she can also throw a perfect event.

  1. The best boss award goes to…

The two seemed to have also seen that they could compete on who is the boss lady. Basetsana revealed that she can have fun with her staff as they participated in the Duduzane Challenge as part of her production company, Connect TV’s Year-End celebrations.

Mam’Mkhize dragged differently by letting it be known that her wealth is supported by a staff of over 4 500 people. The competing rich aunt might have shared cute posts doing challenges with her staffers, but one thing she had done was to make sure that her staffers keep their jobs, despite the challenge that was 2020.
