I’m so lucky to have Winnie Khumalo as my mother because I have someone who understands the journey an artist takes and the ups and downs of the journey. I have watched her go through ups and downs in her career and survive them, that’s how I know I can, and I will too,” she told TshisaLIVE.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Rethabile explained further about her new single with Master KG.

This song is about a young girl who’s having a hard time with her relationship, so she asks for advice from her parents. This is because she doesn’t know what else to do or who else to ask because it’s difficult for her,” she told the publication.

Rethabile also told the publication that the song she worked with Prince Kaybee on is on the album. The song, Isivunguvungu created quite the controversy on social media after DJ TruMpeT shared on Twitter that he had worked on the same song with Rethabile.

Prince Kaybee’s and DJ TruMpeT tracks are only similar in lyrics and not beat. In a tweet, Prince Kaybee explained that Rethabile came to the studio and recorded on a beat he gave her and did not let him know she had previously recorded with someone else.

The young DJ was allegedly fired by Rethabile’s mother and manager Winner for allegedly being disrespectful.

Winnie and Rethabile later cleared up the matter and cleared Prince Kaybee’s name and prove that the song DJ TruMpeT alleges was ‘stolen’ from him, is theirs.
Winnie and Rethabile stated that they work with different producers who come with their own beat. They then come with their own lyrics and bring in the vocals of which remains their property should they part ways with a DJ.
