Rasta Finally Impresses Mzansi

Rasta the Artist has finally managed to impress South Africans following his painting of revered Anti-apartheid activist Andrew Mlangeni who died at 95.

The controversial Zimbabwe-born South African artist has never been one to win plaudits for his work. The artist, real name Lebani Sirejenje, is infamous for his controversial paintings especially those of dead celebrities. His work generally elicits negative responses and is usually panned for being of poor quality and not depicting the subjects of his paintings well.

However, this time, Rasta’s painting of the struggle stalwart and the last living defendant of the 1963 Rivonia trial has won almost universal acclaim. Many South Africans took to social media to praise the artist for perhaps his best work to date.
