Professional Teachers Slam Celebs Who Are Hired As Tutors Without Qualifications!
It is getting heated on Twitter, as professional teachers are venting out their frustrations on celebs, who have been hired as tutors, without qualifications. Mzansi celebs are always hard at work securing the bag with different gigs, as jobs in the industry are few and far between. But this time around their expertise has been scrutinized by many.
This follows after numerous celebs including the like of Mohale Motaung, Penny Lebyane, Khaya Mthethwa, Somizi and Pearl Modiadie, were hired on the Free Stem Lockdown Digital School, a digital learning platform, aimed at assisting pupils with their studies during the lockdown period.
Professional teachers took to Twitter, to weigh in their opinions and slammed the Department of Education, for hiring celebs instead of them.
The #CelebritiesAreNotTeachers, has been flooded with tweets from teachers and ordinary South Africans who are rallying behind them. Tweeps felt like, there was no need for celebrities to be hired because they do not have any relevant teaching qualifications.
Some said the pass rate has been very low, and the government is busy hiring celebs who do not have any teaching experience.
This is disrespectful to the whole teaching profession. ? #CelebritiesAreNotTeachers pic.twitter.com/I0HFqOw3RK

Can we see SACE certificate of Mohale, Penny and the likes? the government should've taken student teachers for this online initiative plus we might not go for teaching practice. Our profession is taken for a po*s #CelebritiesAreNotTeachers pic.twitter.com/mfHrUdLXs6
