Police speak on claims that 3 suspects arrested in connection with AKA’s murder
Police have denied media reports claiming three suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of AKA.
According to the reports, the suspects were arrested in Cape Town on Sunday, 26 March.
It was further reported that they were going to be brought to Durban where they were expected to be charged.
Western Cape police spokesman Colonel Andre Traut told the publication the provincial cops had no idea about the suspects’ arrest.
KZN police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda told the publication there were no updates as yet on the investigations.
“Police will provide progress in due course,” he said.

AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, were gunned down at The Wish restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on 10 February.
CCTV footage that was widely circulated showed gunmen ambushing and killing them before running on foot.
In February, KZN commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi said the cops have ideas who the killers are.
“We have not yet arrested anyone, but we have interviewed different people and obtained statements. We have also collected cell phones and are busy downloading some of them. We have also received our ballistic report from forensics, so there is still work the team is busy with,” he had said at the time.
