Actress and TV presenter Pearl Thusi has been axed as a presenter for BET’s Behind The Story after 4 years of successfully hosting the show.

According to Entertainment commentator Phil Phela, Nomalanga Shozi will be replacing Pearl as the new host of Behind The Story.

“Season 5 of Behind The Story starts in October with Nomalanga Shozi as the new host,” Phil tweeted.

He also applauded the channel for its efforts to elevate Nomalanga’s career all these years.

“Gotta commend BET for sticking with Nomalanga Shozi. Viacom or whoever handles talent at BET Africa has put their full support behind her. Shem, they plug the lady. She was even on Isono. She does all BET events coverage, etc. Reminds me of what SABC1 used to do for its talent”

Sharing the exciting news on her social media platforms, Nomalanga said she is where she is today because of hard work.

“You’ll know my story in due time. For now, just know it wasn’t easy and I worked. Hard,” she tweeted.

Pearl Thusi also took to Twitter to congratulate Nomalanga on her new gig.
” So excited for @RealNomalanga and wish her and the show nothing but the best,” tweeted Pearl.

Pearl does not shy away from celebrating other females in the industry.

A few days ago, she penned a heartwarming post on Instagram congratulating Skeem Saam star and TV presenter Amanda DuPont on her brand new business venture.

She wrote: “So proud of this girl…we’ve come so far. In the mess of this industry, we’ve managed to continuously find our own path and stay on it. Well done @amandadupont! I’m so proud of you for @lelive.africa! It’s beautiful and the product is amazing! Eco friendly luxury! Looks beautiful and is of real quality… just like you.”

Amanda also responded to Pearl’s message by singing her praises. She said she is proud of her, “Awww sis I’m sooooo absolutely proud of you!! You have grown so much in all aspects of your life! You are a marvel, superwoman, mom, and gift to this industry! Like I said yesterday your insights, values, and philosophy on life had me stunned.

The actress said she is grateful for Pearl’s support and she is proud of her achievements, “Cheers to growth, supporting each other and uplifting another woman. Well done on the household favorites @_blackpearlhair and @thesitotacollection I always say it takes a strong, confident woman to uplift another-you are that!”
