Actor Kenneth Nkosi fails to pay R1 million car

Mzansi funny man Kenneth Nkosi has blamed his financial woes on lockdown. The comedian and actor, also known as Kenny Makhenzo, has been taken to court by FirstRand Bank.

Kenny, who has appeared in films such as Tsotsi, White Wedding, Mad Buddies and plays Franco in the new film Kedibone, is being sued for failing to pay installments for his Mercedes-Benz E250.

According to court documents, Kenny was supposed to make monthly payments of R11 797 for a period of 71 months after he bought the car in 2015 for R1 041 608.

Kenny confirmed to the publication that there was a legal dispute with his bank.

“I have instructed my lawyers to handle the matter and I will make no further comment on the pending matter in court,” he said.

“It is very unfortunate that the banks have no understanding of the plight of the actors and artists who have been the most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.”

In a draft order from the high court in Joburg, Kenny has been ordered to return the fancy ride.

The documents state that Kenny applied to be placed under debt review but then breached the debt repayment agreement.

A letter sent by FirstRand lawyers to Kenny reads: “We confirm that on 19 October 2021, you entered into a new payment arrangement in terms whereof you agreed to pay cascading amounts starting from R10 367,67 per month as from 31 of December 2021 in order to bring the arrears up to date and settle the account.”

It is noted in the document that since Kenny was absent, summons was served on his sister in June 2022, which he did not enter an appeal to defend.

Cape Town-based gospel artist, Kholekile Hlubi Qongqo, survived three car accidents in the past 10 years.

He believes that his fellow artist Thumeka Lothe, who is currently recovering from an accident that happened in the Eastern Cape in April, will come back to the stage a stronger woman.

Speaking to Daily Sun about his experience, Kholekile said: “In 2007, I was involved in an accident when I was coming from a show in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.

“I was travelling with my group. The car had a tyre burst in Beaufort West and rolled twice. We went to the hospital for minor injuries.”
The second one happened in 2011 when he was coming from Joburg on his way to Cape Town.

“We drove into a tree. The driver did not see that there were some roadworks taking place. He only saw when he was too close, so he lost control of the car and hit the tree,” he said.

Kholekile said the third accident happened in 2017 when he was going to perform in George. The car he was driving in also had a tyre burst.

“In all these accidents, our vehicles got seriously damaged and were written off but we came out alive.

“I later realised that I had problems with my spine and had to walk using crutches. I had to have an operation and stayed in the hospital for two months.

“The doctors told me that if I didn’t do the procedure, I was going to be wheelchair-bound all my life,” he said.

He said he spent some time on a wheelchair. He said that he was unable to drive and this made his life difficult.

“I went through what Thumeka is going through. I know she will stand up and be on her feet again.

“All she needs is support, especially from us her friends and fellow artists.

“We can pray but prayers won’t give her food, so we need to contribute the little that we can. This will make a difference,” said Kholekile.

Earlier this month, gospel artists from around Cape Town contributed some money and groceries for Thumeka.

The addition of established names such as Dineo Ranaka, Sol Phenduka, Khaya Mthethwa, and Mo and Phindi, as well as the realigning of our magnificent existing talent are bold steps that Kaya 959 is undertaking to grow the radio station to even greater heights.”

Rumours of their exit was reported by a Sunday World source, “That is if they agree to the terms of their new contract. You can’t be paid the same when you are presenting a graveyard slot. If they fail to find each other, they will, unfortunately, have to leave at the end of this month,” said a source.

When Dineo left Metro FM she said a new opportunity presented itself that she could not resist. “After 4 years, Dineo Ranaka’s time at Metro FM has come to an end. Her last show on air will be on Friday 17th June 2022. This comes after a fantastic opportunity presented itself and the timing could not have been perfect for Ranaka.”

“The road does not end here for Dineo in radio. Details pertaining to her new radio home will be shared in due course. She will also take this time to work on her music career and the OpenID podcast. Following the warm reception Ukhona featuring Nokwazi received from her fans, Ranaka plans to release her second single in July 2022,” the statement continued.

In an interview with Drum Magazine, she described her time at Metro as amazing, “My time at Metro FM has been nothing short of amazing and adventurous. I have enjoyed both my relationship with management, colleagues, listeners, as well as advertisers. It has truly been beautiful. An opportunity to expand myself has been presented to me and it was one I couldn’t resist.”

Moshe Ndiki reacts to criticism over decent funeral for his late puppy

For many, having such an opulent funeral for a pet seems a bit extreme. But Moshe Ndiki felt compelled to give his beloved puppy a proper burial.

Moshe shared pictures from the event organized by Nono Events and immediately got trolled. Social media users all added their two cents on the matter saying Moshe was being too extra.

But in his defense, he has been with Sugar Ndiki for 5 years and was extremely hurt when he passed away.
Speaking to Drum he revealed the cause of death and why he decided to give him a lavish funeral attended by family and friends.

“He passed away almost a week ago after being bitten by a pit bull. I decided to have a lavish funeral, why not? People do it for their loved ones, their kids, and their parents and why can’t I do it for my pet? He was a constant in my life. I loved him. I don’t see a reason why not and I don’t see anything wrong,” he told the publication.

Speaking about the backlash he faced when organizing such an event for a pet he said, “People are people and it’s in their nature to talk and to react to things they are not familiar with. I have never been to a dog funeral, it was my first time attending and organizing one. But it is not about critics. People like to set a certain standard for using their own standards.”

Moshe felt proud of the funeral service for Sugar and thanked the attendees, “Beautiful and amazing send-off for my baby. Thank you to everyone that sent condolences, attended the funeral, and sent us heartwarming messages, you’re truly appreciated, thank you to my friends and family for understanding my pain and how much I loved my pup, @sugarndiki always and forever,” he captioned the clip.

Moshe told the publication that he would not mind getting another puppy however at the moment he is still grieving.

Sharing the news of his death a few weeks ago, Moshe wrote, “I’ve been going through the most the past 2 days, trying to put it aside just for me to work and we’ll just work and saying to myself I’ll grieve on Sunday, baby I love you so much @sugarndiki. I love you and hope the other side treats you well, glad to have loved you, known you, and been your dad and mom,” he wrote.

“So many many memories, you’ve been my 1st born and what a pitty you couldn’t meet your sibling, I’m shattered and I’m asking myself ndiyintoni ngaphandle kwakho Sugar, I love you sana lwam. Funeral and proper arrangements will be made soon,” he added.

LaConco’s gift from her baby daddy has Mzansi talking

South African Reality TV star Nonkanyiso Conco famously known as LaConco had fans in disbelief after she posted something suggesting that she and former president Zuma are still an item.

Taking to her Instagram page, LaConco posted that her baby daddy gifted her with a grey gown to chase away the winter cold. Taking a selfie of her wearing the grey gown, LaConco said, “Even the small gestures need to be thanked, and the big ones as well. Thank you baby daddy for this gown.”

Now she never mentioned any names but the entrepreneur has only one child with former president Jacob Zuma.

Here is how Tweeps reacted:

Three months ago for his 80th birthday, LaConco gused over Jacob Zuma in a sweet post dedicated to him.

“2 April a date that will forever be a celebration of my treasures. Happiest birthday babakhe and Sakhaumuzi. Zuma, Nina baka Lugaju kaMantomela kaShisa, Mashingizela ashiye impi yakhe, [clan names],” she tweeted.

Now this sweet message was met with a lot of mixed reactions and raised a lot of questions.

She even attended her 80th birthday.

But she clarified how their relationship is on an episode of #RHODurban, “The position I am in… I found love and I stayed true to that love. But unfortunately, there were people who had an interest in that love and made it a public thing when it was not my intention.”

“No one gets into a relationship, especially if you are young, to face circumstances that I went through. I had to come to a point where I had to accept the situation and these are the circumstances. Okay this is it,” she said.

She even did reveal that she is dating but refers to her man as Petal In an episode of RHOD, Petal delivered flowers for her and LaConco even revealed that Petal had just purchased a yacht.

When the cast mate Jojo Robinson said LaConco is lying she went on IG live and set the record straight, “They have been digging information about me. I don’t know if it’s my character but my siblings often say that they are glad that I don’t have any scandals because people would have been talking about them.”
