Filthy rich Sam 'Mshengu' Chabalala may have already killed himself, suicide note suggests

Controversial multi-millionaire Sam “Mshengu” Chabalala who was recently arrested for a number of offences has disappeared saying he is fearing for his life which he claims to be in danger.

Chabalala is said to have sent his wife a suicide note complaining about how he is been treated asking what wrong he had done to deserve such a treatment, raising fears that the businessman could have committed suicide.

Chabalala seems to be a man on the run, he recently failed to appear in a Witbank court to answer a number of charges being leveled against him prompting a warrant of arrest to be issued for him on Friday.

The allegations being levelled against him include corruption, unauthorised possession of a firearm and ammunition and falsifying information to gain entry into the country among others.

In September 2019, he was freed out of custody on R200,000 bail. Currently, Chabalala is again, out on R500,000 bail on another count of corruption charges and allegedly attempting to bribe a senior police officer seeking the illegal release of his vehicle and to cause the disappearance of his docket.

Meanwhile, in the note that Chabalala wrote to his wife, Lerato Legodi, which he also sent to some of his workers at Sam Holdings, Chabalala said he was afraid that he was going to be murdered.

Chabalala was last seen by his employees on March 3.

“I am not worried about the court cases but the incident that happened on Sunday it’s clear that these people are really mean to kill me [sic].

“My worry is I never wrong anyone, or steal for anyone or this country, what really I have done to deserve this [sic].

“Sam Holdings I started it from nothing with the help of no one, but now its clearly that my business and success is the source of all my current problems I’m facing [sic],” he wrote.

In the note, Chabalala said he didn’t want to put the lives of his loved ones at risk any more.

“…They failed to keep me in jail; now they come straight to kill me. The people I used to call my friends and I did help them are the ones destroying me right now,” he said.

Chabalala further claimed that the Hawks had been bribed to hunt him down.
“I know my wife you wish to barry my body [sic] but I hope you will be able to find the remaining [sic] of me as I’m going to throw myself in the crocodiles river or game reserve after Pongola as you go to Lwulwuwe [Hluhluwe] N2. I have hiked to come here,” he added.

“My husband and I have parted ways. I know this will come as a shock to many and I ask that you continue to believe in love and family. The battles we have met have been difficult to overcome together and I ask that you respect us by not sensationalising our separation.”

Last week, Mona made a guest appearance on Newzroom Afrika, where she spoke about her passion for helping people to prioritise their health after encountering a life-changing situation.

The actress lost the newborn in 2017 and realised during her grieving process that if she didn’t prioritise her health, she would not return to her sane, healthy self.

Hitmen hired to kill Uzalo actor Thobani Nzuza!

Hitmen hired to kill Uzalo actor Thobani Nzuza!

Three hitmen hired by Afroppop musician Mnqobi Yazo’s manager Senelisiwe Bhengu to kill Uzalo actor Thobani Nzuza rented a house in his complex – but still missed the target.

The award-winning thespian escaped the hit by the skin of his teeth when the inkabis broke into his place in Joburg and, when they did not find him, assaulted a friend he had left in the condo.

The shocking details are contained in the actor’s interim protection order he obtained against Bhengu at the Randburg magistrate’s court early last month.

Bhengu was instructed to appear in the same court to show cause why the temporary protection order should not be made permanent on March 16.

In the protection order, which we have seen, Nzuza said that the problem started when Mnqobi Yazo, real name Mnqobi Msimango, moved in with him in Randburg after he told him that Bhengu had threatened to kill him.

He said Bhengu and the three hitmen came to his place on February 5 after Mnqobi had already moved to his new place.

“She threatened the building manager [Bonga Nkosi], telling him that he is going to die,” reads the order.

So determined were Bhengu and the hitmen that when they didn’t find him, they booked a room in the building, claimed Nzuza.

He said they eventually found his place after asking other tenants in the building to show them where he was staying.

“It was her, Senelisiwe, and the three guys, which she claims to be her hitmen. They broke into my room, kicked one of my friends whom I had left in my room,” further reads the order.

Nzuza, who also played Mdeni in Mzansi Magic drama

ehostela, said Bhengu and the three assassins left with Mnqobi’s identity document after moering his friend, whose identity he did not reveal.

He said Bhengu and the hitmen returned to the building on the night of February 6 but failed to gain access to his room after the security guards blocked them.

He said after waiting for him at the gate for three hours they eventually left. He said Bhengu later sent him a Whatsapp message and said she was tracking his car.

“[She said] I must tell her where Mnqobi is or I will die,” reads the order.

Nzuza said there was video footage showing Bhengu and the hitmen threatening the security guards. He also said he has witnesses who could corroborate his allegations.

“She is dangerous. She had threatened to kill me. She also sent messages to my friends saying that she is going to assassinate me. She is stalking me with her hitmen,” he said in the order.

The protection order has also barred Bhengu, who Nzuza described as “short, and chubby with a blonde or ginger hair”, from coming to his place and harassing his friends Mnqobi, Bonga Nkosi, Sandile Magwaza and the building security guards.

“My husband and I have parted ways. I know this will come as a shock to many and I ask that you continue to believe in love and family,” she says.

Mona didn’t go into details of what had led to the pair, who were viewed as one of SA’s inspirational couples, to go their separate ways.

Without going into much details about their separation, Monyane said the break up was due to some “battles” they could not overcome as a couple.

“My husband and I have parted ways. I know this will come as a shock to many and I ask that you continue to believe in love and family. The battles we have met have been difficult to overcome together and I ask that you respect us by not sensationalising our separation,” she said.

Responding to those who were asking if she was okay after the separation, Monyane said she had survived worse situations.

“I’ve survived my 7-day-old baby dying in my arms. I’m really ok guys, this is nothing compared to that. Let’s carry on shall we?”

The couple lost their home in a fire that also destroyed her daughter Amani-Amaza’s ashes in October last year.

“I am in awe at the amount of loss I have experienced in my 29 years of life on this planet. Losing Amani’s ashes in this fire from hell has got to be the greatest lesson of letting go I could ever have had to experience.

“What a humbling life this is… one thing I know more than anything though is that God and my angels are protecting me and my family at all times and for that, I am forever grateful. Goodbye, Amani-Amaza,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.

Actress and businesswoman Enhle Mbali is focusing on family after her split from DJ Black Coffee, sharing how her mother has been massive support during the last few months. Enhle confirmed the couple’s separation late last year, saying she “had to explain the unexplainable” to her children, and called for privacy to protect them.

While approaching life as a single woman, she said she has been able to count on the support of her mother, Bongi Mlotshwa, and recently told Drum that she was grateful for all the help she was getting.

Family is important. The kind of help you have in your house and everyone pulling together for you is extremely important. There are days where I’m meant to finish on set at 1pm, but I have to pick the kids up at that time. I’ll pick the phone up and say:, ‘Ma, can you do it for me?’

“She’s amazing, that woman. I don’t think she knows how amazing she is. I tell her so often, but I think because I’m her daughter she doesn’t hear it and she needs to hear it more often. She’s a cheerleader of note. Her heart is pure.

Bongi posted a touching tribute to her daughter last year amid reports about the split, calling her “a soldier”. Enhle recently told fans on social media that she is in a good space at the moment and falling in love with herself again. I found the love of my life again! Me. Walked offset today feeling my cup is full. God is doing something in me!” she wrote.
