Drama as man who neglected kids demands their return after hearing they were adopted in Netherlands

BIRTH certificates were the only memories left for Erick Bhengu of Kwangcolosi, near Hillcrest, that he was once a father to his two daughters who were adopted by a foreign couple, apparently without his knowledge.

The inter-country adoption took place in 2014 after an order by Camperdown Children’s Court allowed a Netherlands couple to adopt his daughters, aged 6 and 8 at the time.

The girls lived at ikhethelo Children’s Village in Kwanyuswa, near Botha’s Hill, after their mother died in 2008.

Now, Bhengu, 37, wants them back, claiming he was not consulted. He had an option to file a review application at the high court, but without money, he was unable to do so.

Bhengu, a part-time gardener, confirmed that he had no money to support his daughters who lived with their great-grandmother until she died in 2013. He would visit them from time to time during their stay at a children’s village until he was denied access, he said.

However, the court declared his children adoptable based on the reports that were presented by Wandisa Adoption Agency which facilitated the process.

In the report presented to the court, the agency stated the mother had passed away and the father was “unknown.”

It said the girls were neglected for an extended period, living in poor conditions and had not attended school.

It further stated the family had been visited and interacted with, but it was clear the children could not remain in the care of their great-grandmother.

Although maternal family members were present, no one was willing to look after the girls, said the report.

The agency placed a newspaper advert asking that any paternal family of the children urgently contact the social worker, but there was no contact.

Bhengu rejected some of the findings. “I was denied access to the children’s home, and I was asked to prove I was the biological father. They told me I will only see my kids when they turn 18. I discovered they have been moved overseas. I wonder why I was referred to as ‘unknown’ while I knew where my kids stayed, and I had visited them. The processes were manipulated.”

Graeme Wright, Ikhethelo Children’s Village chief executive, could not confirm Bhengu’s version because he joined the facility after the children and most of the staff who had dealt with them had left.

Debbie Wybrow, director of Wandisa Adoption Agency, said the girls were declared eligible by the Department of Social Development for inter-country adoption after their names were placed on the Register on Adoptable Children and Prospective Adoptive Parents for local options. No one came forward within South Africa.

Regarding Bhengu’s claim about not being consulted, she said there was one incident where “someone, who said he was the children’s father, arrived at the children’s home”.

“He was not able to show he was their father, nor did he have identification documents. In line with the policy of the home, the man was denied access. Despite this, attempts were made to establish contact with this man via the telephone number that had been provided, but not successfully,” she said.

Wybrow said the biological father had not been listed on either child’s unabridged birth certificates.

Bhengu is seeking legal avenues to bring his daughters home.

Muvhango: Matshidiso in trouble as an old face returns

Muvhango: Matshidiso in trouble as an old face returns

Wicked schemer Matshidiso (Buhle Samuels) has been on her guard for months when she’s around her boyfriend KK (Macdonald Tshifhiwa Ndou).

The businessman’s mood can change at the drop of a hat and he isn’t the kind of person you toy with, more so when you’ve betrayed him like Matshidiso. But this fortnight, there’s someone else to give Matshidiso sleepless nights: Dr Kutlwano (Lehasa Moloi). The pair ended 2019 as “business partners”, using Kutlwano’s medical knowledge to poison KK and trick him into signing over his fortune to Matshidiso in the belief that he was dying. “But Kutlwano became obsessed with her and before fleeing Thathe, he tried to shoot Matshidiso,” says Lehasa, who claims that his character is a changed man.

BACK FOR A CAUSE

Kutlwano slinks back into town, making sure that Matshidiso isn’t alerted to his presence as he’s not sure where their friendship stands. Instead, he moves into a local informal settlement with his new bestie Pinkie (Hloni Padi, Kea in sitcom Single Galz, 2014-2018), who tells him that he should put his healing skills to good use in the poor community. “She suggests a clinic as the hospital is far away,” says Lehasa. “That would be illegal, but Kutlwano is a healer and his cause is helping people.” Pinkie gives him her full support, while Hloni jokes it’s because she wants to be famous in the community. “Kutlwano is a doctor and Pinkie is a bit of a diva. Pinkie stays in the settlement, but she dreams big. She thinks that ‘rich doctor’ Kutlwano can give her her dreams.”

A DRASTIC TURN

In a moment of self reflection, the doctor tells Pinkie that he is a wanted man and he explains the KK scheme. He also tells Pinkie that Matshidiso paid him R5 million to leave and never speak of their deal. Later and purely by chance, Kutlwano and Matshidiso bump into each other. While he is all smiles, the look on her face is terror. “Matshidiso fears that he’s back to spill the beans and tell KK what they did,” explains Lehasa. It’s anything but that, adds the actor. “When Kutlwano sees Matshidiso, his old feelings come rushing back and he’s overwhelmed with obsession for ‘ the one who got away’.” Pinkie notices the change in his behaviour and when her seductive charms don’t work, she realises that to keep her love interest, Matshidiso must go. Thanks to Kutlwano’s confession session, she has the ammo to do just that. If she can prove everything to KK, that is…

Simz Ngema’s baby daddy Tino Chinyani exposed: “He’s a cheap hustler who preys on grieving widows”

Simz Ngema's baby daddy Tino Chinyani exposed: "He's a cheap hustler who preys on grieving widows”

Zimbabwean gospel rapper Mudiwa Hood has launched a sensational attack on compatriot and South Africa based model and media personality Tino Chinyani. In a no holds barred attacked, Mudiwa Hood claimed that Tino is just a cheap hustler who preys on grieving South African widows to make ends meet. An apparent reference to Tino’s relationship with Simphiwe Ngema, the widow of the late Dumi Masilela.

The brutal and unrestrained, and some are saying below the belt, attack from Mudiwa Hood came about after a mini-spat on social media platform Instagram. The drama started when Tino called out Mudiwa for showing off his bedroom which had US$100 notes littered around to prove how loaded he is.

When Tino told Mudiwa to stop the extra ‘small boy moves’ the rapper claimed that he had no idea who Tino was. Tino who seemed to be in a no-nonsense mood as well then caustically replied that he is what Mudiwa has always aspired to be.

Below is Mudiwa Hood’s full attack on Tino Chinyani in which he accuses the latter of not being as wealthy as he is and of preying on grieving SA women.

Tino

I rarely respond to insults but wandijairira!( you are sizing me up)

Before the insult, trust me I didn’t know you. Zimcelebs stole my pic and put up a very provocative caption jus to have people diss me, something i wish they could stop?.

You came, saw it and attacked me, which wasn’t cool at all considering you didn’t know me and neither did I. Listen, we come from two different worlds and backgrounds.

I am a ghetto boi who grew up with nothing not even a bed and i ain’t ashamed. I used to sleep parukukwe chaipo something u know nothing about. I have worked my way to be here and the few things i have now, I celebrate them unapologetically. I know poverty cause i lived it, thats why I help people, give food and money to those in need…have you ever helped any Zimbo iwewe(you) or Zimbos there in SA who are struggling to make ends meet in this Lockdown? selfish kid…u jus know flooding naked pictures of your guvhu dende on social media…

“I’m the guy you thought you could be. Take notes. I’ll make it a good show”

The clap back appeared to have floored Mudiwa Hood and many assumed he had gone off social media to lick his wounds in private somewhere. Unbeknown to them, Mudiwa was working on a full-blooded response in which he was taking no prisoners. In his fight back, he even included Tino’s lover and future baby mama, Simphiwe Ngema, who took no part at all in the social media fight.

Inside Zodwa Wabantu’s Women’s Month celebration

Mzansi’s Skhokho and dancer Zodwa Wabantu seems to have not let the special month for women just pass like that, instead, she had a little celebration with some ladies at Sunnyside Lifestyle Lounge and it looks like they had a good time.

You know Zodwa, she was wearing a simply beautiful black dress with some matching sparkling heels and the look really portrayed the classic lady she is. It looks like there was no specific dress code as people present were wearing different outfits and colours.

She had a moment to share photos with who she called Mkhulu Bae wa Bantu and The Most important Lady of the Club Safety.

Among one of her posts, she captioned, ‘I Have a Big Heart for Any Human Being?? Zodwa Wabantu.‘

Here is a glimpse of what went down, watch:

Khanyi Mbau: I finally found myself

Khanyi Mbau: I finally found myself

Khanyi Mbau: I finally found myself

Mzansi media personality and actress Khanyi Mbau always finds herself the subject of scrutiny whenever she posts a picture to social media.

Khanyi recently spoke to papers about how she was a lost soul and depressed for 12 years, but she has finally found herself.

Khanyi said ” I was not myself for the past 12 years, my past was haunting me. I used to run away from my problems going to nightclubs to drink my sorrows away because I was hoping things will get better”

If there’s anybody who knows a thing or two about skin lightening, it’s Khanyi Mbau.

Just a few weeks ago All4women posted an article about “Khanyi Mbau’s guide to ‘safely lightening your skin”

After all, she’s been doing it for the past 12 years and has the complexion to prove it.

Khanyi recently took to Instagram Live video, she said skin lightening is something not unusual in the entertainment industry.

She said, “All your pop stars lighten their skin. They may not be as honest and open as I am. 90 per cent of your celebrities lighten their skin. It is part of the game. Remember our game is different from your game, it is a culture. It is how we play. We don’t want to look ordinary because we do not live an ordinary lifestyle.”

She added that she doesn’t like wearing makeup a lot and lightened skin looked better on set and on Instagram.

In the video, she tells women to embrace any beauty regime they are happy with and that being black is a state of being.

As confirmed earlier today by his Aunt and later Zakes Bantwini, the country is shook on learning of the passing of the child star from Port Elizabeth due to unconfirmed circumstances.

He was not only a hit amongst ordinary South Africans but he was loved by many Mzansi celebrities in the entertainment industry.

iPokolina, as he was affectionately known, was friends with celebrities such as DJ Tira, Skhumba, and DJ Oskido.

Lvovo was even accused of being his long lost dad.

iPokolina will be sorely missed and may he Rest In Peace.
