Mohale has weighed in on the debate around homos.e.xuality and Christianity, slamming hypocrisy and calling for serious conversations on the topic to be had in the church.

The star recently chatted with gospel star NJ Kunene about s.e.xuality and faith on his Instagram Live series Let’s Talk with Mohale.

NJ said he did not want to hide his s.e.xuality as a church leader because he believed it would affect his faith.

“You can be gay and Christian,” he said.

Mohale said he went to a Christian school and was a church leader, but at first, found it “very difficult” to come to terms with his s.e.xuality.

“We were being told, not by God or the Bible, but by people who were teaching, that being gay is not acceptable and wrong. I started accepting all those words and living them in my life, saying I can’t be gay, being gay is a sin. Until I realised these people have been taking what the Bible is saying out of context,” he said.

He said realizing people had used the Bible “out of context” allowed him to get rid of the feelings that he was unclean or unworthy to go to church.

“For me, God teaches us to love. God teaches us not to judge people. Their interpretation of what it said in the Bible, they have taken it upon themselves to decide God hates people who are homosexuals.

“There is nowhere God says that in the Bible. Because of what they have read in the Bible, they have taken it out of context to say they are not going to associate themselves with someone who is gay, and you that cannot be gay and Christian.”

Mohale called out those who used scripture to claim homos.e.xuality is a sin, saying they needed to use the same energy speaking about other “sins” in the Bible.

“If we are going to be vocal and talk about homosexuality being a sin, then we must be vocal about everything else considered a sin”.

He said attraction to the same gender needed to be normalized and recounted his own experience coming out to his parents.

“My dad was the welcoming one, the one who said it was OK. My mom had a few challenges accepting (it). I gave her time to really come to terms (with it). I had a lot of conversations with her. I made her understand who I am and nothing has changed about me. I am still her son. I am still the very same person she knows, it’s just that I had differences,” he explained, adding that she now accepted his sexual orientation.

Bontle Modiselle and Priddy Ugly are undeniably one of Mzansi’s hottest couple and their adorable baby Afrika makes them the cutest family. However, they too have their fair share of haters who meddle into their marriage.

Her sister Candice Modiselle has had enough of the continued hate and decided to face the trolls head-on.

Speaking about her admiration for her sister Bontle and brother in law’s marriage, she placed them both on high accord. Angered by the disrespect and mockery towards the two, she revealed that the couple is unmoved by the hate and are busy securing their bags as well as raising their daughter.

“Honestly. The most unwarranted disrespect, for sh*ts & giggles. I admire how unmoved they are by the noise. 2 people harmlessly going about their lives, married, in love, collectively securing bags & raising the most gorgeous little girl. I’ll forever stan, 11 years & counting.

“In this home, we celebrate & protect young healthy black love. I can never doubt God’s existence because I’ve seen his love manifest through this family,” she wrote.

DJ Tira gives back again by helping a fan in need

During the lockdown, many mzansi celebrities have given back to communities by helping those in need.

DJ Tira took to Twitter this week to help a fan and her family in a small town in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

The star said a fan e-mailed his music label, Afrotainment, asking for help.

In a video titled “spread love”, the DJ shared his journey to help the family in need.

The fan said her father suffered a stroke and has diabetes. He is disabled, causing financial difficulty for the family.

“As Afrotainment, we have hearts that are truly willing to give,” said DJ Tira

The artist and his crew bought groceries and a new wheelchair for the father.

The video captured the joy the family experienced from this kind gesture.

In 2018, the star posted a video of himself with an artist from Durban who had lost both hands.

“I bumped into this guy today at the Durban harbour. I have found myself a new friend. For the love of Durban, let’s spread love and support on another,” said DJ Tira

It never rains, but it pours for Black Entertainment Television award-winning musician Sjava.

He was axed from Mzansi’s top drama series Uzalo after the SABC allegedly told its executive producers that they’d made a blunder in casting the muso, who’s currently facing a charge of sexual abuse.

Two well-placed sources who spoke to City Press this week said that Sjava (whose real name is Jabulani Hadebe) was removed from the SABC1 production by the channel amid a rape charge opened by his ex-girlfriend, songbird Yamikani ‘Lady Zamar’

Sjava’s extremely talented, but these rape charges have cost him his career. We understand that he told the production he isn’t guilty. Unfortunately, he needs to prove his innocence. Otherwise, he won’t work any more with a rape case hanging over him,” said an SABC insider.

Recently, Uzalo’s executive producer, Mmamiste Thibedi, was quoted saying:” Sjava’s perfect for this role because he’s a great performer and his musical persona is aligned with this creator part. He’s unapologetic about his culture and the raw energy he possesses is exactly what the role requires.

In November, Lady Zamar laid rape charges against him at a police station in Limpopo.

The 33-year-old House star has since gone public about her ordeal, saying she hasn’t been herself since the alleged incident.

However, the Umama hitmaker has since denied the allegations.

An SABC insider Approached for comment, SABC’s acting spokesperson Mmoni Seapolelo was vague in her response. All she said was: “Sjava was on a limited storyline that will conclude naturally.”

The 35-year-old musician failed to respond to calls, texts and WhatsApp messages

When approached for comment, Sjava said: “Whatever you are going through in life, it will pass. The one who comes last, shines.”

In a police statement, Lady Zamar had detailed the alleged incident, which took place in 2017 when she and Sjava were still in a relationship.

In her affidavit, she claimed that Sjava sexually violated her at the Porche-Villa Hotel and Conference Centre in Thohoyandou, after they’d both performed at the Royal Heritage Festival in Venda.

Mome Mhlangu has finally taken to Instagram to address the ongoing social media uproar over the allegations levelled against her husband, Tall Ass Mo.

The personality and Toll Ass Mo’s manager had attempted to sweep the matter under the rug by posting about her struggles with abusive in-laws, toxic friendship and healing. But it is hard to preach Black love when your husband is accused of being an enemy of the same institution.

In a post making it clear that she stands behind her husband, Mome clarifies that their silence is not an admission of guilt but “choice to respect the law.” She then shares her husband and their legal team’s official Instagram handles that were elusive to many to direct any questions they might have.

In the lengthy caption she expresses that Lerato is the first to level such allegations and details the impact of the continued “attack” on her family. She ends off by thanking those that have supported them through the situation and shares her commitment to fighting gender-based violence.

Lady Zamar gets questioned over Sjava’s Alleged R@pe Case

Lady Zamar took to Twitter and shared her empathy over the ongoing matter of Lerato Moloi receiving justice.

In her tweet, Lady Zamar merely tweeted about gender-based-violence (GBV), adding broken heart emojis. The star should know that her tweet would revert back to her and former relationship with Sjava.

For anyone that has lived in a rock, here is the tea. In 2019, Lady Zamar confirmed to have been in a relationship with Sjava, and soon after we found out that Sjava was a married man and Lady Zamar assumed the position of the “other woman.” Lady Zamar then revealed the alleged toxicity and abuse she endured during the relationship claiming she was seeking legal action against Sjava.

In what has been a year of the tumultuous end of their relationship it is still unclear what the status of the case is. So, every time Lady Zamar attempts to speak on GBV she eventually gets dragged for her own case with Sjava. This time was no different, with tweeps inquiring what is the status of her case or was she just the jaded ex.
