Rhythm City actress wants poor mom and her son out of her restaurant

Nontulikazi Nxumalo regrets giving a mum and her son a helping hand. The 54-year-old, who plays a leading role in e.tv soapie Rhythm City, said it all started when a Facebook friend died in February.

She said in the months before her friend Dante Vries died, he told her about his girlfriend and said he’d like them to meet.

“I never met Dante, but our friendship was great. We spoke about everything and he was like a brother to me,” she said.

Nontulikazi said Dante paid rent for this woman and her 25-year-old son, but they were evicted when he died.

“I didn’t hesitate to let them move into my restaurant, which was temporarily closed in March.”

The woman wouldn’t say much about her family and claimed they were all dead.

She said when she told the woman to start looking for a job and
accommodation, she told her she was sick and couldn’t work.

“In June I told her to please get a place because the restaurant was supposed to be a temporary solution,” she said.

Nontulikazi said when they wouldn’t leave she called the cops, but they said there was nothing they could do because she’d allowed the woman and her son to move in.

“No one is able to help them and their story of not having family isn’t adding up.

They also don’t have IDs,” she said.

Nontulikazi said she was starting to wonder whether Dante was a real person or if this woman catfished her.

The woman, Olivia Langeveldt (49), said she was abandoned by her mum when she was three months old and her foster parents died when she was two.

She said Dante took her in and paid her rent before he moved to the UK. Asked when she’d leave, she said she didn’t know.

Police spokesman Captain Mavela Masondo said it was illegal to evict people because of lockdown regulations. He advised Nontulikazi to find them space at a shelter as she could approach police again.

Social media has been an uproar since the interview with Tol Ass Mo on BET Africa’s Behind The Story with Pearl Thusi, where the comedian broke his silence.

Pearl responded to a number of questions from tweeps who wanted to know why accuser Lerato Moloi’s side of the story was not told, expressing that she was contacted before Mome and Mo’s interview and are still awaiting her approval.

“Waiting for her to agree. Tried calling her pre interviewing Mo and Mome” Pearl wrote.

Thusi especially, has since received a lot of scrutiny for the interview from tweeps who think the sit down was a bad idea and Mo didn’t deserve to be given a platform to set the record straight.

The strong-willed businesswoman responded by pointing out that many other accused artists have also been given a platform to speak for themselves, stating that although she is an activist, that doesn’t give her the right to judge people.

“I am an activist but that doesn’t mean I’m a judge” Thusi wrote.

Gay father of 1 Lasizwe asks South Africans to teach their kids about homosexuality

Lasizwe has been very open about his sexuality and has been praised for helping change the narrative about the LGBTQI+ community.

Recently he took to Twitter to encourage parents to teach their children about same sex relationships

“I believe we need to start educating kids from the ages of 7 about homosexuality and make them understand about same sex love.” he said in his post

He went on to ask why parents are refusing to teach their kids about homosexuality?

It doesn’t end there, Lasizwe who revealed he has a daughter said he is also going to teach his children about homosexual love.

And as usual Black Twitter is always on standby with their views and comments, here is what some had to say;

@jezile_sam
Children enter primary school and bully each other only because of ignorance. People who believe there should be an age limit to teach children about homosexuality are homophobic. They are implying there is somthing immoral about gay ppl and kids should be protected from it…

@Karim_llissa
?
I think it’s very important that they know from a young age that it’s normal and there’s nothing wrong with it

@tsakaneeee
Just do exactly that and allow others to teach their children whatever.

@ItumelengDanny
That’s very sweet of you… Just allow others to teach their kids what they want

@Bebonke_J

Yeah …Hambo citha iSperm uzalalise….and leave other Parents to teach their Kids however they like

Do you think Kids should be taught about homosexuality?

Media personality Khanyi Mbau is looking for a husband

After splitting up with her boyfriend of 10 years, Mbau says she has had time to reflect on her life and is loving being single again

Media personality Khanyi Mbau says she has been a lost soul and depressed for 12 years, but she has finally found herself.

“I was not myself for the past few years; my past was haunting me. I used to run away from my problems by going to nightclubs to drink my sorrows away because I was hoping things would get better,” Mbau says.

The actress says it took her many years to come out of a dark place and find her new self.

“Two years ago, I started seeking some professional help. Going through therapy has helped me to find myself again,” she says.

Last month, Mbau (34) announced on social media that she had broken up with Tebogo Lerole, her boyfriend of more than a decade.

She wrote on her Instagram page: “Guys, we have been here before, certainly words I have uttered before. Our second attempt grew us even further apart.

“A decade of dating someone comes with great joy and immense difficulty, that fighting to stay together is sometimes not enough. Some paths are meant to cross and certain season(s) to pass. Tebogo Edward billion has chosen to take a different path and I have chosen to respect it and let him soar into greatness. And by this we are no longer an item.”

Speaking for the first time about their split, Mbau admits that it took a toll on her.

“As much as it was not easy, I had to let it [the relationship] go and find myself again. Lockdown has helped me to reconnect with myself. I had allowed myself to go through the emotions and the pain, and cry myself to sleep. But I have come out strong.

“One of the popular [Bible] verses that was always in my mind when I was going through the trials and tribulations is Psalms 46 verse 10: ‘Be still, and know that I am God’,” she says.

But she refused to say what led to the break-up.

“I am happy and content. God came through for me this time around.”

She says she is single, for now.

Asked whether her Twitter handle was being flooded with direct messages (DMs) from a potential baes, she says she has been trying to avoid her DMs because, aside from men asking her out, her fans are always asking for financial help. Sometimes she feels bad when she can’t help.

“I am single and looking into myself. Well, never say never. If I had to get married again, I would do it all over again. Love is a beautiful experience,” she laughs.

Although she is in a good space emotionally, she shares that she could not have survived without support from her family, especially her little brother, media personality Lasizwe Dambuza.

“These are really tough times for us as entertainers as money is not coming in and most projects have been halted because of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. We are losing money and we cannot afford the lifestyle we used to,” says Mbau.

“Our anxieties are through the roof as you don’t know when you are going to get your next pay cheque. This has taught me to understand that life has no guarantees; whether you are wealthy or poor, we are all the same during these trying times. Money cannot buy health.”

She recently lost a friend and says she is happy to be alive. “We are losing our loved ones every day. If I make it to December 31, then I will live forever.”

Mbau, who launched her I Am Khanyi millennial shimmer gin in 2018, says she was excited when President Cyril Ramaphosa lifted the ban on alcohol last weekend and moved the country to lockdown level 2.

“Many South Africans, including myself, have been severely affected. The alcohol ban has impacted on many people’s lives, including the full value chain of the alcohol industry.”

She adds: “My business has also lost income. I am currently participating in a campaign – #SaveMyLivelihood – in support of people who work in the booze industry. This is an opportunity for economic recovery and to try to save the livelihoods of many people and restore their businesses.

“I encourage consumers to please consume alcohol in a responsible manner.”

Somizi’s husband Mohale slams the Bible – God never said being gay/lesbian is wrong

Somizi's husband Mohale slams the Bible – God never said being gay/lesbian is wrong

Mohale has weighed in on the debate around homosexuality and Christianity, slamming hypocrisy and calling for serious conversations on the topic to be had in the church.

The star recently chatted with gospel star NJ Kunene about sexuality and faith on his Instagram Live series Let’s Talk with Mohale.

NJ said he did not want to hide his sexuality as a church leader because he believed it would affect his faith.

“You can be gay and Christian,” he said.

Mohale said he went to a Christian school and was a church leader, but at first found it “very difficult” to come to terms with his sexuality.

“We were being told, not by God or the Bible, but by people who were teaching, that being gay is not acceptable and wrong. I started accepting all those words and living them in my life, saying I can’t be gay, being gay is a sin. Until I realised these people have been taking what the Bible is saying out of context,” he said

He said realising people had used the Bible “out of context” allowed him to get rid of the feelings that he was unclean or unworthy to go to church.

“For me, God teaches us to love. God teaches us not to judge people. Their interpretation of what it said in the Bible, they have taken it upon themselves to decide God hates people who are homosexuals.

“There is nowhere God says that in the Bible. Because of what they have read in the Bible, they have taken it out of context to say they are not going to associate themselves with someone who is gay, and you that cannot be gay and Christian.”

Mohale called out those who used scripture to claim homosexuality is a sin, saying they needed to use the same energy speaking about other “sins” in the Bible.

“If we are going to be vocal and talk about homosexuality being a sin, then we must be vocal about everything else considered a sin”.

He said attraction to the same gender needed to be normalised, and recounted his own experience coming out to his parents.

“My dad was the welcoming one, the one who said it was OK. My mom had a few challenges accepting (it). I gave her time to really come to terms (with it). I had a lot of conversations with her. I made her understand who I am and nothing has changed about me. I am still her son. I am still the very same person she knows, it’s just that I had differences,” he explained, adding that she now accepted his sexual orientation.

Tito occasionally takes to Twitter to share he’s interesting meals that he prepares and of course receives quite the reviews on the platform.

The minister’s latest meal, a full roasted chicken, which of course had lots of sugar and whilst the end product was much better the process images he shared.

Somizi on Sunday shared his version of his roasted chicken and let know that the good minister is invited for lunch.
