#DinnerAtSomizis – Fans want Somizi to invite Tito Mboweni to his cooking show

Finance minister Tito Mboweni is trending on Twitter again, only this time it is not for any of his meals or snacks but because the streets want him to be a guest on Somizi’s weekly cooking talk show Dinner at Somizi’s.

The Idols SA presenter is looking for suggestions on who to invite to his show, sending the call out on social media this week.

Fans suggested celebs like actresses Sindi Dlathu, Connie Ferguson, Connie Chiume and President Cyril Ramaphosa. But it was the “nation’s chef” Mboweni’s name that kept popping up in Somizi’s mentions.

The minister cooks often and is not deterred by critics from sharing his meals with his nearly 1m followers on Twitter. Every time he posts that he is preparing a meal, he is guaranteed to dominate the trends list.

Anyone who has been following the minister long enough knows that his star ingredient is garlic and tweeps are hopeful that Somizi will finally deliver the message that “you don’t need that much, minister”.

Many were of the view that the two personalities would make a great combination and the minister could learn “a thing or two” from Somizi.

In August, Somizi invited Mboweni to lunch after he made an unimpressive grilled chicken which “looked like it had a claim with the Road Accident Fund”.

Presenter thrilled to be helping people conquer drinking problems

Actor and presenter Nomsa Buthelezi, who is the new presenter of Uyaphuza on Moja Love, is excited to be part of the show that makes a difference in people’s lives.

Buthelezi, who also presents Our Perfect Wedding on Mzansi Magic, said Uyaphuza assists people who have drinking problems by taking them to a rehabilitation centre. The new season starts on Saturday at 8pm. “I have done different shows but Uyaphuza is different. It is not about glamour and it deals with serious issues. It is very emotional because you watch people change their lives for the better,” Buthelezi said.

When Buthelezi was growing up she always wanted to assist people and she was pleased to be part of a show that was doing exactly that. She said presenting the show had taught her a lot about life and human beings in general.

“I’m pleased whenever someone gets help. In life we face different challenges, and seeing people getting help makes me happy. I have shot many episodes and met defiant people who don’t want to change and when they change their mind later you feel you have played your part,” Bhuthelezi said.

“Being part of the show taught me that it is never too late and God never gives up on each one of us. There is no dustbin for human beings. There are certain things that we go through in our lives and we feel they are permanent while there is help out there.

“We are living in the time where we think social media is the god of everything and people living their lives around it. I cried when I met one of the guys who said to me we came on time because he felt he was going to die.”

Moja Love’s head of marketing and public relations, Lindiwe Mbonambi, said they created the show after their research showed that South Africans had an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, and were using it to deal with social problems, which was not helping. Mbonambi said the channel forked out money for people to go to the rehabilitation centre because it wanted to help.

Renowned TV presenter Pearl Modiadie took over the SABC 1 channel again last night, with the return of It Takes A Village Season 3. The TV presenter was recently announced as the new host of the show.

Pearl Modiadie Makes Her Debut On It Takes A Village

In this third season of the show, Mzansi follows Pearl as she goes back to her hometown Tembisa, where she helps young people to mend their family relationships. It’s a real honest to goodness ‘going back home’ story and South Africa is set to be behind her every step of the way!

As the third season made it’s debut last night, Pearl met with young adults from the community who shared their personal stories and how they would like her to change their lives.

Pearl said to her a family is very important and that is why she has decided to step into the big shoes of becoming a beacon of hope to the young adults of the area. The multi-talented TV star is known for being down to earth and always lending a helping hand to help change lives.

She further cautioned the youth of the area to not drop out of school and explained the importance of education and never allowing your circumstances to determine your path in life.

Pearl had previously hosted Zaziwa on the channel. Speaking to ZAlebs the SABC Spokesperson Mmoni Seapolelo dropped a bombshell by confirming that the show was canned, “A decision was taken not to recommission the show for another season, the channel is, however, exploring other content ideas and formats in the slot, allowing room to curate a diverse offering to viewers,” she said.

Following the shocking news, Pearl Modiadie also raised her eyebrows and explained that she was not informed that the show has been given the chop. The TV star said she only found out on socila media.

The name Pearl Modiadie has become synonymous with the whole idea of the clean-cut girl making a great success of her life. She has given up her home and family from Tembisa and moved into a tastefully decorated villa in Fourways to be close to radio and TV studios. Since being nominated as the Best Presenter and hosted shows like The Metro Music Awards and Raw Silk, Pearl struggles to find time to spend with family in her hometown. The beauty recently welcomed her bundle of joy into the world and thanked her fans for the outpouring love.

Socialite and TV actor Mohale Motaung, finally made his debut on eTV’s hit soapie Rhythm City last night as Kudzo, following receiving major backlash on social media on how he landed the new role.

Angie Mosepidi wrote, “If you want to be in the entertainment industry and you don’t know anyone or have a family member within the entertainment industry, Ur chances of making it in are very slim. Whether ur a good actor or u studied arts won’t even matter.”

Twitter gives thumbs up to Somizi’s hubby Mohale on #RhythmCity

Some dragged him for not having a formal acting qualification, and said he is shutting down opportunities for students who studied acting.

In a press release from the show “Mohale enters the world of Rhythm City as a Head of sponsorship for a big cell phone company. He lives, breathes, and sleeps sponsorship and is always looking for the perfect opportunity to invest. However, little do Rhythm Citizens know that Kudzo will be assuming the role of a false investor, looking to place his investment on a Kilowatt Festival as part of a play that is orchestrated by David Genaro’s daughter, Pearl. At this rate, it seems that Pearl will go to any length to avenge her father’s death, including milking Suffocate of his money.

Despite the backlash some complimented his acting saying he was natural. Even Somizi reckons he was natural and says he looked amazing ” My baby u looked amazing.. u were and are so natural… I couldn’t be a more proud husband.. Keep you eye on the prize and reach for yo dreams and the stars ..I know how hard u work and what take it takes to get where you are i love you,” shared Mohale.

Rapper J Molley who touched and k!ssed actress Khanya Mkangisa speaks out

Model and actress Khanya Mkangisa and up and coming rapper J Molley made headlines when pictures of the two all cosy went viral. Social media came after the two of them and it is safe to say they were not in favour of the alleged relationship. Reason being the age difference.

After celebrating her 31st birthday she posted pictures and videos of her and J Molley kissing and all over each other. She got slammed because Molley was 21 at the time, making her 10 years older than him. Social media had a lot to say especially looking at the fact that Molley had broken up with his ex-girlfriend Shamiso, daughter of Azania Mosaka a few days before the pictures went viral.

Instead of Khanya denying the claims she shoved the middle finger to everyone who talked negatively about the two of them.

Now, the Leader Of The Wave rapper has finally spoken out about the alleged relationship saying there was nothing going on between them.

The rapper revealed that before the pictures of him and the actress first came out, he had no idea who the Muvhango actress was. He then added that Khanya was the one who approached him backstage to take pictures at a show.

Molley then found out the next day how much influence she had as social media went berserk at the assumption that they were an item. He was even baffled at the fact that she is a celebrity with a fairly large following.

“I didn’t know her, I’ve never met her until that night,” he claimed.

The rapper let the whole debacle continue because it worked well in his favour and it was good for his career. At the time these claims were made, he was pushing his latest project so that is why he let everything slide as it served as free publicity.

But as he addressed these rumours he expressed huge disappointment at the way social media makes up stories without considering people’s feelings.

Their ‘fling’ was quickly forgotten after Molley posted pictures of his new bae and things already looked serious. He posted pictures of her and what looks like a tattoo of his initials.

Also, the fact assumption that Khanya Mkangisa and Matli Mohapeloa seem to have reckinled their love after the actor posted a picture of them together, made people forget about Molley. Matli captioned the picture with a heart emoji.

Prince Kaybee organise the Producer Challenge winners a studio set

Is it Christmas already, did we miss the memo? Prince Kaybee is going above and beyond to open doors for people in the entertainment industry and we are here for it. When you start to think he is done with giving away, the young Prince Kaybee does more.

The DJ/producer Tweeted words of gratitude to Dj Fortee, who was kind enough to fit custom acoustics for the Producer Challenge winners.

“I just wanna send a special shoutout to @DjFortee on the far right for helping the gents @NativeHouse_SA with room acoustics after they won the #PrinceKaybeeProducerChallenge
NOW WE WANT MUSIC GENTS”

The winners’ studio was filled with smiles as they looked determined to make Prince Kaybee proud in their decked-out studio, Prince Kaybee didn’t stop there…clearly, he was listening when fans asked him to also provide the winners with equipment, on top of the laptop he delivered, in order to complete their production studio.

Even though he didn’t acknowledge the request at first, he quietly did so by pimping out their studio with studio sets, and the aspiring producers were beyond the moon.

“We just got brand new studio sets from @PrinceKaybee_SA as He promised, our music journey will never be the same. We still can’t believe u did this for us. Thank you very much may you live long, HOSH. #princekaybeeproducerchallenge”

Prince Kaybee started this initiative due to lack of opportunities for producers in the entertainment industry, he came to this realisation after the success of his first project, called Project Hope. A 10-track collaborative album with aspiring female singers in South Africa to work with him on new songs, as backup vocal singers.

Due to the success of the initial Producer Challenge, Prince Kaybee announced a second leg of the Producer Challenge, which will offer the same exposure as Project Hope, unfortunately, any prizes. His followers appreciated the gesture nonetheless.

The belligerent DJ is many things but he definitely has a big heart and he loves his followers, his projects and challenges are clear testaments that he wants to share the big cake that is the entertainment industry with others.

We can’t wait to hear what the 10 Project Hope finalists have been cooking up with him in the studio, over the past couple of weeks. It seems they are excited as well, Thembisile, who is also one of the 10 finalists can’t contain her excitement.
