In the latest episode of Mag G’s Podcast And Chill, he had dancer and Amapiano vocalist Kamo Mphela over as his celebrity guest and tea was spilt.

The dancer revealed that she wants to make the most out of her fame because it doesn’t last very long. “The fame doesn’t last that long so you have to make the most of it while you still have time. That’s what people don’t understand. It’s not a lifetime thing unless you are legendary.” She adds.

“Cassper is still the biggest artist but he still has to convince people that he is the best. I don’t want to go through that personally. There’s only so much you can do in your own country. Fill Up was the biggest so what’s next? It’s easy to get to the top but it’s hard to stay there.”

To our surprise, The Jobe hitmaker didn’t really look up to any South African celebrities while growing up. However, she revealed that she’s a fan of Busiswa’s performances.

Detailing her rise to fame, Kamo also told the story of how her biggest song, Jobe came about. “Jr met Jobe and after a video of me promoting the song went viral on Twitter they wanted me on the track. The song was already done and I put my vocals on it.” She explains. “I didn’t even know that the Jobe song had splits.”

Another shocking revelation we learnt from the interview was that to this day, Kamo Mphela hasn’t made any cent from the song. “People trying to get you to sign contracts so that they can hold you down. I went through a couple of songs where I didn’t get any money from them. Jobe is one of those.”

She also revealed that Jr wanted to sign her on a three-year deal which she turned down. “Jr wanted to sign me for three years. There was a bit of drama when I didn’t want to sign the contract. That’s why I’m not even on the Jobe music video.”

The rising star who’s been spotted with Major League DJs a lot of the times revealed that she is actually not signed to them. “I never signed to Major League. It’s just an association signing. I’m signed to myself. I met Mojar League at Moja Cafe when they were performing. That was there the first time they saw me. The asked me to come into the studio and started doing gigs with them.”

Mac G the got to the juicier stuff and asked Kamo about her relationship status and this is what she said that she isn’t in any relationship at the moment and that she’s a virgin.

Speaking about the type of guy she’d date, she revealed that she is into F…k boys. “I don’t have a specific type. I like dangerous guys.”

Mphela also revealed that she failed a grade in high school. During the interview, she revealed that she failed grade 11. “It was a hectic experience – I never experienced that type of pain in my life.” She said.

Media personality and actress Nomzamo Mbatha To Deliver A Speech At The United Nations

Media personality and actress Nomzamo Mbatha has been invited by the president of the General Assembly, Volkan Bozkir, to speak at the 75th General Assembly. This is not the first time as the star had previously addressed the UN headquarters at the Africa Dialogue.

This is in celebration of the Women’s Conference which was first held 25 years ago at the United Nations, which took place in Beijing, China. “Accelerating the realisation of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls” is the theme for this year.

Opening this year’s festivities is Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, the secretary-general, president of the General Assembly and executive director of the United Nations.

Nomzamo Mbatha says she feels honoured to be part of this event this year, “It is an incredible honour to be a part of something so monumental. As a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, human migration is a global crisis that puts woman and girls in danger of so many social ills of society including being used as weapons of war.

“The genocide that is gender-based violence that continues to plague not only South African women but women on the continent as a whole is an urgent crisis,” said the actress.

Despite the pandemic delaying many of the important events that people look forward to every year, this particular one was not cancelled and Mbatha explains that there is an urgent call for action to take place.

“The agenda can never be postponed. Equal rights for all women and girls remains a human rights crisis. Beijing +25 is necessary, urgent and a true call to action for all members of society and every sector to make Generation Equality a cornerstone. To make the necessary pledges to eradicating the discrimination against women and girls everywhere,” she concluded.

At the Africa Dialogue held at the UN headquarters in Johannesburg, Nomzamo Mbatha, spoke on the importance of the cause, why she felt the need to come on board and how she felt the narrative needs to change.

Opening her speech before delivering a moving story on her trip to a refugee camp in Malawi, she said, “The call came at a time when my mind was already wrapped in making a difference through promotion of human welfare and social reform – speaking to the issues of tolerance of our different backgrounds and lending a helping hand in overcoming our various challenges.

“I was drawn to the cause mostly by seeing, daily, how African foreigners are received in our communities. Being a full time student at UCT, interacting with other students on campus has sensitized me to their struggles, even with the freedom of movement they have in South Africa, the experience is not of enjoyment as they are still living in fear, isolation and ridicule. That narrative needs to change to #ONEAFRICA,” said Mbatha.

Whilst some of us are still recovering from the much-talked-about and shocking celebrity breakup, of veteran actor Rapulana Seiphemo and Zoe Mthiyane, another relationship has bite the dust, shuu ku tough kwa love.

Thishiwe Ziqubu And Mandisa Nduna have also decided to head for splits-ville. Thishiwe shocked fans when she took to Twitter to let the cat out of the bag. In a Twitter post, she revealed that they called it quits a while ago.

“Beautiful people. Because you loved and supported us, we must let you know. Mandisa and I broke up a while back. It is a Love I will always treasure and honor, and all is good.”

Mandisa replied to her post and wrote, “Thankful for it all. Sisonke nja yam( We are together buddy).

The former lovebirds were once completely inseparable, and they stole the hearts with their salivating social media posts, gushing over each other. Their relationship inspired many people, especially the LGBT community because they decided to go public with it and did not care about what homophobes had to say.

Their romance proved that love does not discriminate and it was one to envy. The two even bagged SAFTA awards and Thishiwe decided to show her bae some love in a social media post.

“I never thought a Human-like You was possible. Your Love is infinite. You gave me strength through this Journey. You held it down throughout Our most trying time. You gave so much of yourself to Us, to IDlozi Lami. IDlozi likubonile futhi lizokuqhakazisa ngezenzo zakho,” she wrote.

In an interview on WTF with Tumi, they revealed that they never suffered from the pressure of going public and revealing their love to those who are close to them.

“It wasn’t a conscious decision to come out because if we were a heteros.e.xual couple, we wouldn’t have to do that. When Cassper and Boity were together, they didn’t have to sit everybody down and say; ‘this is who we are. We chose to be together because of a, b and c. I am all about expressing my relationships so it was a natural thing to post selfies together,”

Should Thembi forget about her marriage? #Unmarried

One thing we’ve learned on the latest episode of Unmarried is that Brenda would actually love to be a mother. However, parenthood didn’t come to her in the package she had hoped for. As you’ve probably seen by now, her late friend, Lesego, decided to leave her only child with Brenda.

Don’t get it twisted, Brenda really loved her bestie and doesn’t mind looking after BK (for now). However, it seems she’s still stuck in the past and wonders what life would have been like if she had children of her own with her ex-partner, Donald.

Brenda wants her own kids
“I loved him, and I thought we were happy. My career was going well, we were trying to have a baby and I thought we had it all. The joke was on me. Now here I am, no husband and no baby,” Brenda told Thembi. It seems not having her own kids is something that makes her a bit emotional and she feels incomplete.

“When you’re a woman and you don’t have kids, people don’t see you. It doesn’t matter how successful you are or how much money you have or what business you’re in. They don’t see you.” To top it all off, Brenda is scared that she might not find someone who will love her even if she doesn’t have children.

Thembi and Bongani clash
If you think Brenda has issues, wait until you hear about Thembi’s problems! She’s still beating herself up for messing up her marriage and would give anything to have Bongani back. However, that won’t be such an easy task. The hope of saving her marriage is slowly disappearing.

Her daughter, Mbali, snuck out of the house to go to a party with her friends. She came back the following day accompanied by Bongani, which is not such a good look as he blames Thembi for their daughter’s little stunt. He also believes that she’s failed as a mother. Ouch!

Can Thembi catch a break? She’s been begging Bongani to forgive her for two whole years and he just doesn’t want to hear any of it. Is he being unreasonable?
