Nomzamo Mbatha’s Hollywood movie gets an official release date
2020 has been a hard year for everyone, including golden girl Nomzamo Mbatha.
First, she experienced a 3.8 magnitude earthquake during lockdown while stuck in LA thousands of miles away from her family and then she was dragged on Twitter for having a meltdown about her heartbreak. This was after an Instagram live clip of her reacting to a question about her breakup with Maps Maponyane went viral. But our girl has bounced back harder than ever.
Word is Coming 2 America will now be released on March 5, 2021, on Amazon Prime.

This comes after Amazon Studios announced on Friday that it has bought the rights to the movie from Paramount Pictures for a whopping $125 million. The first Coming to America movie was released in 1988 and grossed more than $288 million worldwide.
According to IMDb, in the sequel Coming to 2 America Akeem (played by Eddie Murphy) finds out he has a long-lost son and returns to America to meet the unlikely heir to the throne of his native Zamunda. Although Nomzamo is listed with the lead cast members, it is still not clear what her actual role entails.
Some of the big names Nomzamo is set to star alongside include James Earl Jones, Arsenio Hall and Garcelle Beauvais (who were all in the first movie). The likes of Wesley Snipes, Tracy Morgan, Rick Ross and Teyana Taylor will also star in the movie.
Local actress Salamina Mosese congratulated Nomzamo by tweeting a link to an international blog in which Nomzamo’s name was mentioned and Enhle Mbali also chimed in with celebratory emojis.
