Nomfundo Moh reacts to people who mock her body and call her ugly.
Speaking to ZiMoja, the singer urged people to focus on her music and not her face nor body.
Moh says she can’t control how she looks or change her body type.
“I have overcome a lot of challenges, one of them being bullying, social media hate almost broke me,” she says.
“I received a lot of hate from people calling me ugly, some criticising my size and petite body type. People criticise things that I have no control over,” she adds.
“That hits differently compared to something that I have control over. Had they been judging my make-up or hair, then I would understand because I can change a hairstyle or fix the makeup and move on but when I get criticised for something I can’t change, it hurts. That shattered me a lot. I sat down and wrote a song titled Ndabazabantu to encourage myself and to tell people that, being the way I look doesn’t not mean I am happy.”
Nom desires to gain weight soon, but she’s in love with how she is created.
“I also wish to one day gain some weight and have a bit of a hip. But I can’t control it, and I am happy with the way God made me.”
“I am not here because of my looks or for a beauty competition but to serve a purpose and that is to heal. People must not focus on me but on the music.”
“Before fame, Nomfundo lived a quiet and peaceful life.”
