Natasha Thahane Shows Her Support For The People of Zimbabwe In A Touching Way
Over the past few days many South Africans have expressed their solidarity with Zimbabweans as their human rights get violated. We have seen celebrities like Samkelo Ndlovu, Masasa Mbangeni, Mmusi Maimane, and many others taking to Twitter to empathize with Zimbabweans.
Actress and brand ambassador, Natasha Thahane has also joined the movement and showed how closely she is with Zimbabwe. She pleasantly surprised her followers when she tweeted in Shona, which is a widely used language in Zimbabwe. Nothing beats appreciating a person by speaking their language.
“Moyo wangu uno rwadzirwa vakoma vedu ne hanzvadzi dzedu dzeku Zimbabwe,” Natasha tweeted. This in English translates, “My heart is in pain for my brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe.”
Natasha also belted out a classic hit by the late award winning Zimbabwean artists Oliver Mtukudzi. The song, titled Todii, illustrates tackles HIV/AIDS in an environment where issues such as the languaging of HIV/AIDS and the relationship between gender and agency have been tainted with politics.
