Back in March, we reported that a leading cast member on popular South African telenovela The Queen would be temporarily replaced after getting badly injured on set. This actress was the people’s fave Zandile Msutwana who portrays Sis Vee.

It was shortly revealed that she’d be replaced by another one of the people’s fave and renowned television presenter Thembisa Mdoda.

We do not doubt that with Thembisa’s immense talent and skills, along with the support and guidance she has received from Msutwana, the character of Vuyiswa Maake will continue to steal the hearts of the viewers. We are very excited for Mdoda-Nxumalo and thankful to her for taking this gigantic challenge with so much grace. We wish Msutwana a speedy recovery and look forward to her return soonest,” read a statement from Mzansi Magic.

In the episode that aired on April 19, 2021, Thembisa Mdoda finally made her debut as Vuyiswa and the reactions were priceless. Even though it was to be expected that Thembisa would be joining the show as it was announced in March, still, viewers were never ready and their reactions prove that. Check some of them out below.

Thembisa does not resemble Vuyiswa in her appearance and that has thrown a lot of viewers off. It’ll take them some time to get used to it. The 3rd of March 2021, marked the 40th birthday of Thembisa Liyema Nxumalo’s husband. Taking to social media, the actress penned him the sweetest birthday message.
