Mzansi Magic: New series, Ingane Yam’, hosted by Lethabo Mathatho
Mzansi Magic will be introducing a new reality show to its line-up, Ingane Yam’, which sees parents introducing their hidden children to their spouses and families. Mzansi Magic announced on Thursday, 9 October 2020, that the new reality show, Ingane Yam’, will premiere on Tuesday, 20 October 2020, at 20:00. The Real Housewives Of Johannesburg star, Lethabo Mathatho, will be hosting the show and guiding the families.
The unique series will detail the stories of parents who, after years of procrastination, finally decide to introduce their hidden children to their spouses and families, to help the children gain a sense of belonging. These children, who were born out of infidelity, have been treated as outsiders throughout their lives, and often find out that they have not been benefiting from their parent as much as their half-siblings.
Mzansi Magic stated, “The reality show will take viewers on a journey of self-exploration, as it delves into the everyday life of ordinary characters and their stories. It zooms in on the big question – why parents hide children from their past and how their families react to the big reveal of the child, who, until this point, has been an outsider.”
The channel further explained that Ingane Yam’ intends to evoke emotions within viewers, as it shows how children suffer by being denied their true identity. Further, it reveals how they deal with rejection from people who should be taking care of them.
