Moja Love co-founder has died

One of Siyaya TV’s founders, Vuyo Mahlati, better known as Dr Vuyo, has died.

She was one of the executive chairpersons and founding members of Moja Love, which is owned by Siyaya TV.

Moja Love said they were saddened by the passing of Dr Vuyo, who it described as the “moral compass for the business”.

“She was the core member and driver of the team that developed the concept and business plan for the Siyaya television business and eventually the Moja Love channel,” said Moja Love.

She is credited for enabling the channel to reach the vast majority of South Africans in their languages and including various cultures in the content offered by Moja Love.

“She was the moral compass for the business that set out to speak to South Africa in quite a different voice and in the plurality of different languages and cultures that is our beautiful country.”

She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony, which will only be attended by family.
