Mampintsha's mum who said Babes Wodumo faked pregnancy strikes again – This will end in tears

One of Mzansi’s favourite couples, Mampintsha and Babes Wodumo, welcomed their baby boy last week.

And people could not be happier for them, showering them with love and messages of congratulations.

But one person is not feeling the love.

Mampintsho’s mum, Zama Gumede, claims her famous son is neglecting her after she spoke “the truth”.

Zama revealed that her famous son Mampintsho, whose real name is Mandla Maphumulo, had stopped buying her groceries and maintaining her.

This after she lashed out at Mampintsho’s wife, Babes Wodumo, in a video in April, accusing her of faking her pregnancy.

Zama said she spoke the truth, which cost her a son.

“I live in KwaMashu and Mandla lives in Westville, but he no longer comes here to check on me.

“He stopped buying me groceries because I spoke the truth.

“But it’s okay. Maybe I’ll see him walk through the gate one day.”

On Wednesday, 16 June Mampintsho and Babes – whose real name is Bongekile Simelane – shared a photo of their newborn son on social media.

Asked to comment on the birth after she had told Mzansi that Babes faked her pregnancy, Zama said she stood by what she said.

“I heard that Babes gave birth to a son. They didn’t tell me,” she said.

“I heard it from strangers. What I said on that video was true and I’ll stand by it.

“But if there’s really a son, I hope to see him one day and hold him as he’s my grandson.”

Commenting on the couple’s upcoming reality show Uthando Lodumo, which will be aired on Showmax later this month, Zama said she’d deal with Babes if she says anything bad about her on the much-anticipated show.

Mampintsho declined to comment when contacted, except to say: “I just got married and had a son, and I’m focusing on that.

“My mum is my mum. I’m not going to comment on what you’re asking me.”

Babes’ manager, Nondumiso Simelane, also declined to comment.

Nondumiso said she only comments on her sister’s work-related affairs.

“What Mampintsho’s mum said isn’t work-related,” said Nondumiso.
