Businesswoman and Royal AM FC owner Shauwn Mkhize attended an extravagant family wedding in her rural home over the weekend. Flagged by her ride or die elder sister Nozipho Ngubo, Shauwn and the Mkhize family witnessed Dedani Mkhize and his longtime lover Sithokozile Mthembu tying a knot at Willowfontein township in Pietermaritzburg.
Like a star she is, MaMkhize stole the show during her brother Dedani’s wedding. Clad in a modern Zulu traditional attire outfit, with a combination of white, pink and green stripes, she wore a matching Zulu hat called Isicholo and impressed those in attendance. Ever smiling, Nozipho Ngubo accompanied her younger sister Shauwn, and her traditional outfit matched the occasion.
While Shauwn was basking in glory at her brother’s wedding, things were not going well for her team Royal AM whose match with Mamelodi Sundowns was abandoned due to poor weather. The premier league match held at Chatsworth Stadium was abandoned after 24 minutes into the game due to heavy rains, and after consultation with both teams, the referee stopped play. A Royal AM win at home against Mamelodi Sundowns would have taken the KwaZulu Natal outfit second on the DStv Premiership table, guaranteeing African Champions League football.
Shauwn’s team Royal AM sets their eyes on continental football in their debut season in the South African top-flight league. They completed a double against PSL giants Kaizer Chiefs placing them in a solid position to scoop the second position in the top division.
A group of Zulu regiments headman took the podium during the wedding and endorsed Dr Zweli Mkhize’s ANC presidential bid. The former Minister of Health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, has echoed his willingness to accept his nomination to the most coveted position in the country.
Ngizwe Mchunu, a former Ukhozi FM presenter, is a known supporter of former President Jacob Zuma. Mchunu repeatedly said, “the Boers must move out of the way for Mkhize to rule”, a shade aimed at President Ramaphosa.
