Looking at me like I still owe lobola: Murdah Bongz jokes to his wife DJ Zinhle

South African musician Bongani Mohosana, popularly known as Murdah Bongz’, jokingly teased his wife about lobola via an Instagram post on Sunday 17 December. Musician Murdah Bongz shared some photos with his “wife” South African DJ Ntombezinhle Jiyane, popularly known as DJ Zinhle via an Instagram post on Sunday 17 December. In the first photo, DJ Zinhle is looking at her “husband” and he is smiling. This led the former Black Motion star to joke about lobola in the caption of the post.

The musician also teased a big announcement to follow. Bafo, why you looking at me like I still owe lobola? In other news, stay tuned for a big announcement from me tomorrow midday,” she wrote.Lobola is known as “bridal wealth” and is a formal process of negotiation between two families in order to come to a mutual agreement on the price.

Murdah Bongz and DJ Zinhle have a daughter named Asante together. This is the DJ’s second child. She also has daughter with slain rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA. The rapper was shot dead outside of Wish Restaurant on Florida Road, Durban on 10 February.

Zinhle and Murdah refer to each other as “husband” and “wife” after he paid lobola for the Umlilo hitmaker, as revealed in the second season of her reality show DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected.

“Bongani and his family came to my mom’s house to negotiate lobola. And we decided that it should be a small thing, with just family,” she said. I’m excited to be his wife, I’m excited to try something I never would of thought would happen for me. So now I’m married and I love telling people that,” she continued.

However, they have not held their wedding as yet. DJ Zinhle revealed that the wedding will come after they have built their home together – on an episode of the second season of her reality show.
